I love this concept, but how exactly do they plan on avoiding a Cease and Decist from Nintendo / Bandai Namco / etc.? Copyright law generally allows for fan fiction online as long as it's posted freely and not for profit, but this seems like a pretty blatant violation of international copyright / IP.
This makes sense. It's the same rationale a friend and I came up with — we both made it a point to watch Fallon just to see the PS4 demo, and as soon as they went to Knack, we both let out a groan, like "What the hell, really Sony??!?" But yeah, showing Destiny or Killzone on network TV, even late at night, probably…
Great post... but thought I'd mention Advance Wars and Battalion Wars are the same series :)
Civilization. Thus dropping the bomb.
Wow. Wii Music? Really?
Zelda II is obviously a divisive game, and I fall on the side that doesn't like it. It's the only Zelda game I've started and never finished (four attempts). I cannot name one thing I like about it, and it was nearly impossible for me to make much progress at all before the internet existed.
I agree. And I don't think anyone is considering a Wii U vs. a PS4 or an XB1. This is a two-horse race now. It makes me sad.
Thing is, they sold nearly all of that 3.45 million units in two months, and virtually nothing after that. The concern in the industry is over the fact sales have fallen off a cliff, instead of growing or at least remaining flat. And with no major titles in the pipeline until at least August (Pikmin 3), Nintendo…
Nintendo's most-recent quarterly report showed the best-selling Wii U titles were New Super Mario Bros. U and Nintendo Land, each selling about 1 million units. So yeah, when less than 30 percent of your install base is responsible for your far and away best-selling game, that's a poor incentive for third-party…
I read somewhere that the original version will not be included, but I cannot find a link. It seems unlikely Nintendo would allow an NES ROM to be played on non-Nintendo platforms, though.
I wouldn't count Vita out yet. If the PlayStation 4 does superbly well, and the Vita gets a price cut, it could see a big jump in sales (since the Vita will supposedly be the PS4's answer to the Wii U GamePad, with the ability to stream off-TV play and rumors of remote play; i.e. you're at the airport and playing a…
I said this elsewhere, but I think it bears repeating: as an owner of a Wii U and 3DS, and having owned every North American-released Nintendo console except DS and GameCube, I was completely underwhelmed and fairly disappointed by this morning's Nintendo Direct.
I say this as an owner of a Wii U and 3DS, and having owned every North American-released Nintendo console except DS and GameCube:
This would have worked a lot better if it had no narration and just occasionally threw in a few lines of text, "NEW STRATEGIES", "REDEFINED GRAPHICS", "EXPANDED GAMEPLAY", etc. It feels instead like it was created for someone who doesn't really know much about video games.
Luke, other sites are reporting this Square Enix event is at the same time as one of the major Nintendo press events. True? And if so, does it matter? Does SE assume that since new FF games are pretty much exclusive to Sony platforms, that there's no conflicting audience?
A 3DS price cut is unlikely, but the prices for new units are not bad for what you get, and there are plenty of gently-used 3DS original-size consoles on the market. (Make sure you're not buying an "ambassador" 3DS, which comes pre-loaded with exclusive legacy games, so the prices are a bit higher. Unless you really…
I'd say in this case, it's not Microsoft's fault, no Matter what.
