This article doesn’t make sense. I had a 2017 BMW 340i loaner car from the dealership in November 2016 and CarPlay connected without any need for cables. I believe it connected via wifi because every time it activated the wifi connection symbol would activate on my iphone.

What did they do with the 2.0L Toyota motor? Did they put it in the Ferrari? Would be the least desirable engine swap ever.
