I like for them all to face north. Magnetic north, of course, not this true north rubbish.

Not even really comparable. The fastest Tesla is, what, 10 seconds at 130mph in the quarter mile? Top fuel dragsters are under 4 seconds and way over 300mph. It’s like a Miata vs an F1 car around a circuit. You could spot the Miata half the track and the F1 car would still win.

Yea it must trigger some guilt about their own drinking. It’s not like I mentioned anything about it ahead of time - we were just joking and talking and enjoying each others company. But they clearly just felt more and more uneasy when I’m ordering water and soda when they are getting beers. Maybe they feel like they

I’ve had at least two women break up with me when they realize I don’t drink. I know with some ladies - perhaps many - it’s more acceptable for a guy to be an alcoholic than a non-drinker.

Since you asked - I fill up sooner to keep the in-tank condensation down (I live in a humid area).

At a half-tank, if I’m passing by my preferred gas station (and it’s on the right side of the road, not requiring a left turn), and I’m not in a big hurry (I rarely am) I pull in and fill up. Once I hit a quarter tank, I’ll make a special trip to the station to fill up. On a trip, don’t let it get less than 1/4 tank. N

I don’t know how much the “Tier 1"/”Top Tier” certifications mean, but I stick with them (the Shells with an attached Daily’s in particular). For that reason I try to avoid the Gate/Racetrack/stations. But on the rare occasion I fill up at those, I don’t really notice a difference.

Perhaps it’s ironic that those who proclaim it’s their “choice” to wear or not wear a mask, are the loudest opponents of corporations who make a choice to accept or not to accept their business.

Part of me says this is clever and will avoid dings, another part says this will just teach people to be not as careful when opening doors, and eventually will result in just as many dinged doors as people will just throw their doors open.

More colors equals more money. More money equals less profit. Request denied.

Being a non-drinker is off-putting to many women, as I’ve learned recently after my breakup. Perhaps it brings out some guilt that they themselves drink too much, that they’d rather not deal with. I’ve said before that, for many if not most women, it’s more socially acceptable to be a very heavy drinker than it is to

My exact thought as I read that. Plumbers would promote that video as much as they could.

In the example given it took 14.26wH to charge the phone. Multiplied by 365 (once a day for a year) gives about 5200wH, or 5.2kwH. My city rates (which I understand are pretty cheap) are $0.10300 per kwH, giving a yearly cost of $0.53/year. The article says wireless charges are about half the efficiency, so figure a

You are speaking as if the retailers care - they don’t. They got their money. In fact this might be doing them a favor, since they can box all their stock in one outgoing box to mail out, rather than one outgoing box per unit. The losers here are the other end users, not the manufacturer or retailer.

A note that there’s a space between the colon and the year.  I couldn’t get it to work until that space was there.

Where did you learn to fly?

I can’t get these promotions to work. Clicking your links just takes me to my account page where I can only extend my Game Pass for $14.99/month. No mention of the $1 deal, either the one in this article, or the $1 upgrade Gold to Ultimate. I got the $1 for a month deal almost a month ago when I got the Xbox, but

Why are the times being given in Daylight Savings time (EDT) instead of EST? Daylight Savings doesn’t start until March 11.

I couldn’t use the original Nest because it doesn’t support my two-speed outdoor fan unit and continuously variable indoor fan unit (I’m told that I could use the Nest, but would lose those features).

Standard roundabouts are pretty simple - just yield to anyone already in the roundabout. Those with a bit of common sense (most of you fellow Jalop readers) should instinctively get it just by watching for a few seconds.
