Was he under the influence of something, be it alcohol or pills? Probably. Will we ever know? Probably not. Will he be charged with anything? Again, probably not. Would a non-famous person have gotten this same treatment? No. I have endless sympathy for people struggling with addiction (all drugs should be

He was probably distracted by a slideshow

I’d have bought it for my mother.

NP. I’m guessing this’ll be sold before East Coasters pour their second cup of coffee. Pretty much the perfect base for a project.

ABSOLUTELY Nice Price! We had an ‘86 GT with the V6 which we enjoyed. Fun little car! And in the last model year, Pontiac fixed the remaining annoyances and (I believe) upped the power a notch and made the suspension better. I wanted to upgrade to the new model, but a baby was coming, so you know how that story ended

I’m a conflicted over this. I got the full $1,200 as did my wife and eldest daughter, and my youngest daughter got $500. The thing is, wife and I make good money and daughters are attending school on scholarships and grants. None of us has lost a dime.

They’re like the PT Cruiser. It’s not the vehicle I dislike as much as it’s the type of owner associated with them. I’ve never seen one of these on the road that didn’t look like it went trough the Pep Boys accessory drive-thru and purchased everything on the menu.

I agree. I never really understood these. You get the bulk & performance of a car, but the usability of a motorcycle. Just get a used Miata/Z4/TT/Mustang/Solstice/convertible of your choice and have something you can drive whenever you want.

These things are fun but really really limited real-world use. My daughter and SIL were considering this (they’re also bikers) and instead got a sweet BMW Z4 convertible for half this price. They can be open-air whenever they want, but still drive all 4 seasons. The Slingshot, not so much. No Dice for most people,

I honestly wonder if Whedon actually truly believed the things he was saying early in his career?

Definite NP.  This may be heresay to some here, but I have no problem with a 2wd Jeep.  Here in Florida we have zero reason for 4WD, but it’s amazing how many people buy into the “need” for 4WD.

I will forever refer to it as NPOCP because I am old jalop and I will continue to refuse to accept that change

Everything, really. Which is why I don’t own any.

I gotta say - this misses the point.

May I suggest that you talk to your Jalopnik colleague, Jason, about his Changli?

Megan, if “driving scares you” and “cars are big machines that seem unsafe to operate” then this is definitely not the car for you. It’s a cute, round coffin on wheels. Trust me.

I miss the trend of ridiculously gentlemanly heroes. I miss Moore. Or Princess Bride fencing. I’ve rewatched a fistfight scene in A View to a Kill, where Bond battles half a dozen henchmen while taking great care to not break a nearby expensive vase that isn’t his own. Because it’s the polite thing to do.

This, coupled with the fact that my mind can’t focus on trivial bullshit like professional sports when our society is on the brink, is why I didn’t tune in... and haven’t since 2016.

If you really have to be told not to put an industrial strength adhesive in your hair you shouldn’t be left alone with a glass of water.

Not bad, but I have a Jeep and just this morning I got in it and it started. No really it did.
