I’m concerned. Heretofore, you have waxed poetically about the solidness of the Jeep 6 cylinder engine and how bulletproof it is. So, I helped a friend buy one, and I must admit it is a solid performer.

I loved my TR4 back in the day, but pretty much hated the TR4A. Basically, it was the way British Leyland just kind of went down to whatever the British equivalent is to Pep Boys, bought some amber colored markers, and slapped them on there.

I remember when the first Explorer Sport Trac’s came out my wife and I took one for a test drive. We didn’t get two miles down the road before we just looked at each other and said “Nah!!”.

I sure as hell can’t find it. No longer listed in my groups or pages.

Here’s the thing. When they first introduced this particular model, I wondered if the designer had gotten inspiration from some pregnant animal of some sort. In other words, really ugly and pretty dumb looking.

There was a time not too long ago when clicking on your stars or replies would take you directly to the comment in question, so you could kind of have a dialog with the replier. Not happening anymore.

If you’ve ever driven one of these things for more than 20 miles in any direction you would never consider buying this car.

I worried a bit about this when my wife and I took a driving tour of the UK in a five speed Vauxhall. The truth is, I was OK with this arrangement by the time I left the rental car lot. No problems for the entire 8 days.

I am currently the proud owner of TWO Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi’s. The 2005 model is currently being driven by my daughter, and had in excess of 250,000 miles on the odometer when I bought it for her five years ago. Since then, she has been using it as her daily, plus four trips to Burning Man towing a trailer (from

This can happen for a myriad of reasons. I will never forget the time I was driving a customer’s early 70's Ford when all of a sudden the thing just took off like a rocket. Fortunately, this was before locking steering wheels and I was able to simply turn off the engine. I don’t remember what caused the problem, but I

The answer, of course, is the Chrysler 300, preferably with the Hemi engine. Lots of room, old style American and with a huge trunk (boot?).

We had a gentleman in our British Car Club who was a retired engineer who helped build the first nuclear submarines. He was extremely intelligent. He also drove one of these cars, pretty much as his “daily driver” as he aged.

Since I have to go on a treasure hunt in my desk to find car titles when needed, I can appreciate this happening.

    I’ll take the TR4.

Back when I was in AIT at Ft. Lee, VA, my room mate drove an Opel GT. Every Friday night, we would head out in that Opel up to Baltimore. At that time, I95 through Richmond had drive thru tolls (I think it was a quarter). The game was to toss the coin and then see if we could get through before the light changed. We

The first time I have ever completely agreed with one of these  “lists”. Every one of these cars fit the category, not a bad one in the bunch.

When I had an MGB, it was enjoyable as hell to thrash the thing, only to find out that you weren’t really going fast at all. Run it towards the red line, speed shift through all of the gears, only to find out that it maxed out at about 85. Of course, being a small car you felt like you were doing 100.

Been thinking about this since I first read it yesterday. I thought about it last night as I drove my ‘91 RX7 FC convertible to the Dairy Queen. Thought about it again today while working on my TR8 project. Didn’t have any trouble getting in and out of either car.

Your Daily Double is called the McDouble in most McDonalds and is clearly listed on the menu. You are correct, it is the perfect quick food pick-me-up at a bargain price.
