The commenter is perhaps suggesting that that is not what the average man thinks. They also might not be offended, but pushing on something they disagreed with. Perhaps they are also not suggesting you don’t comment or speak up.

Half of these comments are versions of “I wonder if the NRA donates to....” followed by people who probably don’t vote sharing their political musings.
