Because he isn't overly enamoured with 'progressive politics'.

EOES was their last truly innovative album though.

It is their best work in 12 years. I'm genuinely surprised, but I still think they need to move on from band. No band should work with the same 'producer' for 17 years.

Greenaway takes himself seriously? News to me. Most of his best films are black comedies.

They may be more entertaining, but they aren't generally considered to have as much artistic merit.

I'm surprised the visuals were praised. Perhaps it's a different experience in 3D, but on home video it looks bland as hell with terrible lighting and cliche camera moves that are almost of the Uwe Boll school of artistic cluelessness. e.g swooping establishing shots to imply 'epicness' etc.

agree but i don't think it is as good as his best films from the 90's.

Ed Wood, Dead Man and Fear and Loathing are better than anything he was in during the 00s. When he makes a film as good as those, then i may be willing to entertain the 'argument' about batting averages

Ne Change Rien is great of course, and utterly unique, but I wouldn't say it is all that representative of his work or what he can do with cinema.
