Utah is the jello state. We even had Cosby come to make it official years ago. (Not bragging, it’s just what happened) I would call BS on Utah’s food not being Jello, but then thinking about it... The stuff that people do with jello here is not really food.

And no animal rescue would let someone take one home for a pet. A rescue animal would need more and better care.

It doesn’t have to be a good motivation, it can be them spiraling downward, but they will HAVE a response. Frankly, if the only way you can show that your world and universe is randomly cruel is to…
