She can withdraw consent, but neither Danny, or Sansa could, and that
reduces the meaningfulness of giving it in the first place.

if they are using a real Stark girl, rather than the fake Stark girl, wouldn't that change things quite a bit in the Jeyne storyline?. In
the books, it's a commonly known fact that it isn't Arya, really. The
Bolton's know it, Theon knows it. Thus, their treatment of her changes.
A marriage not consummated is worthless.
How the fuck did LF get from Kings Landing to Winterfell that fast?
the shows you're trumpeting basically have no dramatic value at all.
Robbed of her own arc and story to service the needs of Theon's story.
That was the whole "Darth Sansa" moment distilled.
But why now? Why with the rape? Haven't her experiences so far been enough?
Every season we have an unlikely pairing that fans come to love. I guess this is the one for season 6: Tyrion and Jorah.
I feel like it's an AV club thing. I am indeed curious about who first coined this phrase.
If Littlefinger had told her of this plan back in the Vale, she probably would have said no.
Medieval men were not always brutes to their wives.
it is hard to see how Sansa's skills as a strategist would be put to useā¦
I remember Jorah in the book getting the absolute shit kicked out of him and given the full slave treatment, branding and all, it broke him down and commented on his own slave trading.
The tree looked so good that I was definitely expecting either that or a direwolf to shred some Boltons.
Frankly, I think the same criticism applies to Roose's torture of Theon/Reek (which I understand was greatly exaggerated with regard to the book)
No, not one single scene in GoT depicts non-sexual murder/torture as anything except awful. Theon's and Dany's and Ros's rapes, however, are all written/shot in ways that sexualize the women onscreen.
The bigger crime is that we get the focus of the scene becomes the teary eyes of Theon, implying that his suffering is equal to her own. And that is straying dangerously towards 'woman in fridge' territory.
One small change that would've made the difference would be to have Sansa go through with it, but begrudgingly.
That is force done to enable him to rape her.
