Yeah Johns run was basically him slapping the characters with what ever Silver Age character he preferred's personalities and calling it a day.

Initally I felt like I was being too hard on YJ for it not being the DCAU, animation style and voice acting was obviously going to be different etc. But after slogging my way through season one I released I just didn't care about any of the characters or the faux interpersonal drama it pushed.
