“Klamath”

This is very cool and all, but I drove a unmodified Kia Sportage higher than a Piper Cub can fly

$66k for a “blank slate” just reminds me that there are a lot of people with a lot more money than I have.

Appears to be in good shape, you get two tops, the electric drain can be managed by disconnecting the battery till you fix it, there’s a plow so you can explain to your grandkids what “snow” used to be and it’s practically credit card money to buy it.

Do they salt the roads where this Jeep is sold? That is the first and probably most important question.

Yeah, that broken top will come down about once a year, and the rest of the time you’ll drive around with something that looks like a Cub Scout’s first attempt at pitching a tent.

It’s not terrible, but I can’t see any reason to pay a premium for this when the Miata already exists. They are rare because almost nobody looked at this nice but boring car and thought that making it floppier was an improvement. No dice.

Needs a replacement top that will probably be near impossible to find? And tie rods? I suspect it will likely need more than just tie rods. Ball joints and bushings would probably be on that list as well. I wouldn’t buy this car for $1,000. ND

exactly what everyone needs in a daily driver.

Whole different set of skills towing, and managing, 20 tons than a jet ski.

That's very impressive. Hope they start offering CDL classes with these beasts.

I generally find Toyota’s styling anywhere from ugly to bland, but that blandness seems to work really well on vehicle with this awkward giant sedan/CUV size. Still not sure how I feel about the 2-tone, but the overall shape seems to look good. The interior looks pretty bland too, not sure how competitive that is with

I just pulled up a pic of an Avalon because to be honest I don’t even know what one of those is. It shares that same ridiculous overdone grill thing. At least in this weird Crown car it looks like the grill is part of the overall design instead of just tacked on a regular car.  Still not a fan.

Man, since they came out with the Bronco Sport, I figured the Escape had limited time till they pulled the plug.  Really though, the Bronco Sport looks like the visual successor to the first and second generation Escape.

If I’m driving all highway, I can get over 500 miles on a single tank with the 3 cylinder. I’ve averaged 42 mpg and the tank is almost 17 gallons. Makes my eyes water a little when I need to fill it from empty, though.

Big styling improvement with the refresh - the Escape currently on the roads looks like a Playmobil toy, with those simplistic headlights and zero-effort design.

Wera make lovely stuff - their laser-etched screwdrivers have got me out of trouble many times.

Interesting and clever but they appear to need a lot of clearance around the fastener. I'll stick to classic combination wrenches and sockets,  lots of sockets

You know, these are great wrenches but they are quite specialized. It really depends on the location of the fastener and how much swing room you have. Those two little points do jack shit and risk stripping anything you use them on. I do like the set I have and like almost any specific tool, they are priceless when

I’ve got a couple of automatic wrenches that do just about the same thing, that were made in the 50s. They have gotten me out of a few jams when the regular sockets/vice/crescent have failed.
