If you want a minivan with a manual, why not just go for the original, an air-cooled one, from VW?!

I’m always suspicious of rust and non-seasonal photos - were these taken 6 months, ago, 18 or even longer ago?

Yeah, putting bigger tires on, without changing the gearing, means this is a dog to drive.

I paid less for this basic truck, new, in ‘09!

Don’t sweat the small stuff . . . and it’s all small stuff! You shouldn’t be looking at the knob (because, you know, “tactile”), you should be looking at the road!

The other half of the equation, that everyone seems to want to ignore, is with just 3 stations, the odds of starting and ending anywhere close to your actual origin and destination are mighty slim. Whether it’s a 50 minute Southwest flight, or a 30 minute tube trip, you’ll still need 60-90 minutes, or more, to get out

Just check out Missouri’s last attempt at rapid transit, the Loop Trolley, in St Louis. After $53 million, invested, and 14 months in operation, it was shut down, after the money ran out, when ridership was less than a tenth of the projections.

At least he didn’t go the full patriotic wrap route . . .

I agree with you maybe 80%. Yes, the old design is a classic, and, yes, the new livery is mediocre, at best. But there’s also no reason why the livery shouldn’t be revisited, and potentially updated, after 50 or 60 years, in service.

I’ll agree on range, but not on (stock) length. Many hearses (and most limos) have their bodies extended by the coach builder, so the absence of a driveshaft should simplify any stretch.

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”?! Since every order is either a new design, or a modification to an existing design, you’re introducing (the potential for) a new set of problems with each order. Boeing, GM and Ford would be facing the same thing, if their model runs numbered in just a few hundred vehicles.

There are several different paths. One is boring, reliable and low key - some clients don’t want a rolling billboard in front of their home when they’re shopping for services, just something that’s clean and doesn’t scream “look at me”. Another is going the vintage route - anything you don’t see every day, with classy

I get your thinking, but given the lack of income that most people with disabilities have to survive on, I’d much rather see one of these going to someone who really needs it, for its intended purpose . . .

The biggest “no” are the “classic” automatic shoulder belts. There’s a reason why no one sells THOSE anymore, as well!

For that age and price, the answer is always Miata . . .

What is the third shift lever for?  Parking brake?

A lot of U-Haul vans are getting beat to shit doing Amazon deliveries, as well . . .

Not really related, but the CU Trivia Bowl once had team named Three Jerks and a Squirt . . .

It looks like it started life as a narrow-cab, steel-hauling truck -
