My experience with Chevettes is with them as 20yo beaters, but even in the rust belt, they’d take a bunch of negligence, abuse, and the absolute bare minimum of maintenance. I’m not sure exactly how much mileage was on the fleet of pizza delivery cars I drove, but they were all past the ~250k kms where the odometer

The Nissan Altima. Not because of anything that’s the car’s fault as it’s a perfectly serviceable car...

Yes, but KISS, I mean there are still robots and other machinery that run via a serial port, and that has been outdated for decades. A lot of places run tech that is massively out of date because it’s simple, and it works.

Electronics and software have been the boon and bane of a lot of industries.

It would take you $5K to get that one to the condition this one is in.  It’s quite rusty so you need to do bodywork and paint, tons of detailing needed.

It looks pretty good, but for that price, that is way, way, WAAAAAAAY too many miles.

It’s a nice car, but with that mileage the price is almost double what it’s actually worth. ND.

You can do better for less. The Miata market is no longer out of its mind. ND

“Gate lice” exist because airlines created baggage fees outside of the normal ticket price. People are trying to get in early so they have a place to store all their shit because they don’t want to pay extra fees for an already terrible experience.

ND. A tiny range EV does have a price point that eventually makes it make sense, but not $4k. Hoovie’s Fiat 500 EV he bought for $700 with about 30 miles of range max is a good example of one so cheap you could make an argument for it.

ND put the money towards an electric bike.

Today, we have two ways to spend too much for an AWD minivan: $70,000 for an electric volkswagen with the wireless Google maps set towards the future, or $25,000 for a tealish green leather clad time machine with the dial set straight back to the good old days.

To be fair, $30k in 1997 is about $60k now. This was a pretty nice ride in ‘97.

Could be a flipper, could be a collector, could be a guy unsatisfied with the $50,000 minimum price of buying a new AWD minivan.

Would rather have this miniscule risk than spend my life in the Midwest... just sayin’.

Here in BC if you hit a rock stopped on the road it’s your fault and your insurance goes up. If the rock was still in motion it’s like a wildlife strike. Pay your deductible and your insurance won’t go up. It’s not your fault.

I don’t know if that’s a bad price, or if this is a suspicious price.

It’s in here where you’ll find this E88’s party piece, which is the shifter for the car’s General Motors-sourced six-speed manual transmission.

This is what I was doing with my Jeep GC 4XE. 30 mile commute one way. Charge level 1 overnight (12.5 hour 0- full). Charge at work for free on a level 2 charger and I am 95% commuting on the batteries. I drive down to the Myrtle Beach area and Charlotte a few times a year. The trip to the beach is 440 miles and

God, no.
