If I were an owner with a hypothetically unaffected engine (post-process change) I don’t think I would want an engine swap. Sure, if it blows, give me the engine swap and a loaner. But if all is fine, an engine swap seems a bit risky to mess something else up.

If these had been bog-simple carb’d V8s or I6s or I4a they still would have blown up from this. No engine lives long with crap plugging up the oil passages.

This isn’t a TTV6 inherent issue though. The TTV6 Hybrid powertrains seem to be fine so far. This was just a bad process issue. Good on them for replacing all the engines, even ones with no failure shown yet, some of these have been in operation for almost 3 year now and even those people will get a free engine at no

I know Ford got HUGE flack for jumping into the Twin Turbo V6 in a full size truck game.....but in 2011 they still offered a V8 with no turbos. And even offered a simpler SOHC 6.2L V8. They didn’t put all their eggs in one basket.

My mom is only 83 but just donated her car. It will be fine, she lived in a small city and walked for years and lives in assisted living with more social interaction than when she lived in a condo. I'm more worried about my in-laws who live in a house full of stairs.

Tourists bring a lot of money, yes.  But Cruise people?  They arent there for the hotels or the restaurants.  They are there to jam the city streets and to take pictures and mess up the joint.

To compound the problem, if the elderly person has not previously been accustomed to being connected, going on line for services (groceries, meds, rides) is not intuitive. My sister and I have tried instruct our 92-yr old father how to use a simple tablet with little success, and his phone is not smart enough to do

I was 16 in 1994, and my first car was an ‘82 Sedan DeVille with the MIGHTY 4.1L V8 that squeaked out a measly 150hp. No one laughed when six of us could sit comfortably with seatbelts amongst that sea of blue leather.

Before you scoff or blame the boomers or whatever, just know that your own aging is the only sure thing you have in life. Maybe you don’t care about this today, but one day you will. So better to take an empathetic approach now if you want the same when your time inevitably comes.

The tourists coming from Cruise are not the tourists you want. They dont stay at hotels, dont stay overnight for dinner and if you have been in Santorini, you will know they are shuttled in buses to the upper part of the island. These are not good for the locals. You want tourists that stay overnight and these are not

I disagree. It depends how you visit the island. If you stay on the right side of the island in a boutique hotel then you can enjoy a relaxing day at  the hotel and go out in the evening and late at night when the horde of tourists are back on their ship and then it becomes a nice place again. + Don’t go in July or

I want my mother to live closer in a smaller house somewhere walkable, but she’ll die in that house in the middle of nowhere rather than give it up. Shes scared of the city, obsessed with being able to buy a 50 year old hutch i will end up needing to move out with the others when she passes, and has that mindset that

Funny enough I was in Mykonos and Santorini 40 years ago in May and June. Mykonos was still relatively sleepy, but Santorini was already big business. Still the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, along with the other islands in the Cyclades.

Santorini was always a tourist trap, even forty years ago, but ever since China discovered it it has become a neo-dystopian hellscape and I am surprised the locals even allow any tourists in any form whatsoever at this point.

Assuming the seller is telling the truth, this is a NP all day, every day, and twice on Sunday!

You got towed because the Secret Service thought your car might be a security threat and/or they and the local police decided to clear the route as early as possible to allow for further security sweeps.

A towing outfit named “Gotcha Towing” couldn’t possibly be an ethically challenged business.

You think mercenary tow truck drivers aren’t also MAGA idiots?  I would think that Venn Diagram is a plain circle.

Everything about Trump is one giant grift, so Trumpers grifting Trumpers is just a natural part of the life cycle.

Or some cashier kept saying they could and then laughed as they all got towed away.
