One, I expect to see a lot of these in Amazon liveries.  Two, both the bulkhead and the insulation (on the rear walls) is going to have a big impact on how quiet any van is going to be (and most in actual commercial use won’t have either).

Europen?!  European! (in the headline)

A slightly-used Crosstrek would be a good choice, especially with the smaller engine. Remember, most new drivers fall into the “young-and-stupid” category, so minimizing power is always a good thing, as is the ability to run over stuff with minimal damage.

Two more things, tires and taxes. Since EVs generally have great acceleration, some of them also eat their expensive tires (OG BMW i3s are notorious for this). And, depending on your state, EVs can be subject to additional annual taxes, “to make up for lost fuel tax revenues”.

Insurance does NOT prevent crashes, it only provides compensation AFTER a crash occurs. Requiring higher limits will just result in higher premiums, which will have three predictable outcomes, higher shipping costs, more uninsured operators, and more lawyers chasing big payouts. “There is NO ‘free’ money!”

Bay Window VW van/bus/kombi/transporter. I owned three and would love to get another.

Missouri has passed a law to require dealers to collect the sales tax at the time of purchase, but has yet to implement the system to make it operational, so buyers still have to pay the tax when they register their vehicle, a few weeks later. The end result is a lot of vehicles with expired temp tags or no tags, at

The Mercury Lynx. A forgotten model from a forgotten brand.

No. Elderly drivers may be slow and “in your way”, but they’re less dangerous than most teens and many drivers in their twenties.

Distracted younger drivers tend to be distracted 90%+ of the time. Just like older drivers with dementia, both believe that they’re perfectly capable of driving until that “oh sh*t” moment happens. Instead of focusing on some arbitrary age, we need be focusing on drivers as individuals and having rapidly escalating

The crash in Philly involved refined fuel, this one (apparently) involved unrefined crude oil. The Philly crash included a fire, this one didn’t. Apples and oranges . . .

Yet, far more crashes, especially serious/fatal ones, are caused by impaired drivers and by distracted/texting/”multi-tasking” younger drivers . . .

The answer is always Sno-Cat!  https://sno-cat.com/models/1600-15-passenger-sno-cat/

If all that’s needed is “a little TLC”, why doesn’t the owner just do it and pocket the money from a higher sales price?!  ND

KISS . . . a base model, front-engine, RWD Toyota, Nissan, Ford, or GM pickup (or an SUV if a RWD version is available). Good access to parts/repairs, both on the vehicle and in the supply chain combined with decent reliability.

As your video clearly illustrates, you don’t know whether a passenger train or a freight train is coming/why the gates came down, and whether you’ll be stuck for 1 minute or 5 minutes! (And, yes, I get it, ignoring the gates is STUPID, but not all of the delays are the same.)

The freeway running north out of downtown St Petersburg is raised, for miles. There’s no reason why they can’t do the same thing with a railroad IF they weren’t trying to do things on the cheap!

Currently available new? The answer is always Miata . . . unless I could smuggle a Suzuki Jimny into the USA.

While it’s probably a fair price, in today’s market, I’d be afraid of the karma that would come with it. Do I want to enable legalized extortion? Is the previous owner dead? Or in prison? A crime victim? Or, just incredibly stupid? A repo, for the same price, would have far fewer unanswered questions.

If the seller includes the white belt and shoes it could move into the NP territory . . .
