After the Fergusson shooting, the state passed a law capping how much money a city can keep from predatory traffic enforcement, so these struggling back waters have turned to going after their residents, aggressively, for minor zoning and property maintenance “violations”. With nearly 90 “cities” in St Louis County

. . . probably already in Mexico, and long gone . . .

I did that about three months ago, with a Crosstrek.

We were test driving a Subuaru, on the freeway, and a crash happened about 4 cars in front of us. Since my wife’s a nurse, we stopped and helped out until the medics showed, then finished the test drive . . . didn’t buy that car . . .

How does electric usage relate to fuel usage / miles driven in a gas or diesel vehicle?!

I think you’re confusing local spending and state spending - the state isn’t repaving streets in a subdivision!

Without getting too far into the wonky weeds, one, yes, electric vehicles should pay some sort of a comparable road use fee, since they contribute to wear and tear and to congestion, just like ANY other vehicle. And two, while I’m no fan of subsidies, they should not be allocated based on the number of vehicles any

“If you rarely drive in the snow, just pretend that you’re taking your grandma to church, there’s a platter of biscuits and 2 gallons of sweet tea in glass jars in the back seat, she’s wearing a new dress and holding a crock pot full of country gravy!” . . . from the interwebs . . .

Bro ride at its finest . . . I don’t need the overcompensation, not at that price, not at 1/2 off, not even at $10K.  Definitely CP!

1. Buying a ‘65 Corvair with a vinyl bench seat, 2-speed auto and no A/C. 2. Selling it to me 7 years later, for my first car . . .

It’s a gun rack - pretty much standard equipment in rural areas, back when this was new . . .

The last Crown Vic Police Interceptor was made in 2012, 6 years ago.  If you’re seeing one in your rearview mirror, it’s waaaay more likely to be a taxi, these days, than a cop . . .

Of the three, the Camaro has the ugliest dashboard . . .

Six weeks ago, I traded in a ten-year-old Tacoma with 106,000 miles on it for a new Crosstrek, for $18K, out the door . . . no complaints. on my end!

My ex-wife worked for an airline. They don’t get mad, they get even. Send your bags to Boise, instead of Boston?  Sure, why not?  Request a TSA cavity search?  That can be arranged.  Being nice will get you a lot further than being an a-hole!

The one big reason to consider a single cab (if available) is if it means a shorter wheelbase. In urban areas, a tighter turning radius comes in handy.

It was basic, with crank windows, a bench seat and, oddly, a back-up camera, but no back-up monitor. The original wiper stalk let you tap for one pass, but every time you needed a pass, you had to tap. The only other alternatives were low speed (continuous) or high speed . . .

How truly sucky are the seats?

Memory for power seats and mirrors!  If you’re the only one that drives a car, and nothing changes, it’s no big deal.  But if you share with someone who’s substantially shorter or taller, it’s a royal PITA to run through multiple power switches to get things back to “where they belong”!

On my ‘09 base Tacoma, adding intermitent wipers was both easy and an extremely useful upgrade.  All it took was a new wiper stalk (with the intermitent workings, used, on ebay), and 10 minutes to disassemble a reassemble, around the steering wheel.
