I’m not saying that swatting is “just a prank.” It’s a serious crime that warrants serious punishment. It’s just not, in most cases at least, attempted murder.

For anyone else who didn’t know what it was (like me): https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Kiwi_Farms

well, it’s fun for the anti-SBMM people who like to stomp on lower skilled players

Wouldn’t removing SBMM from casual play make it much worse?
You’d instead get much swingier matches with even greater skill gaps in both directions, you’d end up getting killed faster by players way way better than you, while also preying on players way way worse than you.
The end result being that newer players just

It’s understandable. SR as a series is highly divisive. It’s rare to find anyone that’s a fan of all of the games. Some people think SR2 was the peak, others think SR3, others SR4. Hell, some might even think SR1 was the best. It basically boils down to how much of a GTA clone you want it to be. I think GTA is boring,

Honestly I’m going to miss the loot boxes in OW because of how easy they were to earn. I much prefer having a free (if random) chance of earning cosmetics than paying ridiculous amounts of money in some item shop.

and ars technica published theirs 2 hours before IGN did https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2022/08/28-years-later-super-punch-outs-two-player-mode-has-been-discovered/

There’s a hidden 2-player game mode, and it’s been 28 years since Super Punch Out was released and it was only found now. Putting that into a succinct headline is going to result in a fairly limited number of permutations unless you’re getting really flowery.

Eh, online was the least of Sim City’s problems, methinks. I actually, genuinely, enjoyed the coop aspect where neighboring cities are built by other players instead of being represented only by a signpost at the map’s border, and where you can help each other out with specializations and sharing services.

Huh? I think you misunderstand a whole lot of things there...

Does the author expects people to live in pandemic mode for the rest of their lives? Covid is not going away. Between multiple vaccines, advances in treatment and some degree of natural immunity, most people have started to treat Covid as endemic and resumed their regular lives, including health authorities.

Getting shit done in a private session is a welcome change.

It doesn’t seem like the new system is really more restrictive unless you want it to be. You could just set your sims to be interested in both men and women and presumably that will be just like the old behaviour.

Yes, how dare a site reporting on current matters in the games industry report on... current matters in the games industry...

How freaking patronizing can you all get?! Hoooly crap. Calm the hell down, and get off your high horses, people. It’s just the usual par for the course in terms of language protection over there. Most of those clauses will likely never be enforced; none of this is gospel and the government isn’t insane in pushing

Overwatch players should be glad they’re getting a sequel...or an update; in all fairness I can’t quite figure out what Blizzard are doing here, or what players are actually upset about...whatever-the-fuck is happening, they’ll still be able to play some version of the game.

On the team size thing, I assumed that OW1 was going to be reduced to five anyway to keep compatibility with OW2, otherwise I’m not sure how they would have worked together in terms of the shared environment.

Kind of a weird thing to get snarky about. Were you expecting the two games to play together on different balance patches? This will just be a large update. Of all the things you can be upset at blizzard for, this is the bottom of the list. Did I miss the article about how the overwatch league has teams imploding in

And?

I thought they’d already said at some point this was how it would work, I guess I’ve misremembered it.
