The real point here is that people were not prepared in school to be able to recognize the most basic financial scams and to have even rudimentary financial skills. You under estimate an old school Chicago light pole. Those things have zero give, no break away bolts. They will f’ a car up at even relatively low speed. Cutting a typical speed estimate in half would be a good start for an old green Chicago light pole.
