I did not know that. Today I learned.

Hey, I don’t want it and I’m not trying to convince anyone to buy it. However, dear reader, if you’re inclined to get that body kit, this is a great way to get it at a discount AND save on the cost of installation.

The dude has three Miatas. My guess is his wife wants him to get rid of one and he maliciously complied by posting it online.

There was one convincing body kit for the Fiero that made it look like a Testarossa. Enzo and his cohort came down on that company like a goddamn anvil.

In your opinion. The body kit alone is $16,000. But it’s on sale right now for $12,400 if you’re interested in a new one. https://www.gomiata.com/sdmiatitbodc.html

For the look. This is one of the best body kits ever produced for the Miata. Not just on looks, but fit and finish as well. A properly executed Simpson Italia has some value for a buyer who wants that look. You’re just not that buyer.

Nice price. Simpson Design body kits are expensive. If you want to do this on your own, it’ll cost a LOT more. Their website doesn’t bother posting prices. https://www.simpsondesign.net/italia-classic

Change for the sake of change is rarely, if ever, a good idea. Especially when it’s on something as ubiquitous as a steering wheel. That said, I don’t want to bash it. Having the dashboard completely unobscured is a nice change. It seems like hand over hand maneuvers aren’t so bad from the video, but there is

It’s funny that you say this. I bought my 1995 Miata from an owner in the Pacific Northwest and drove it home to Chicago. Same color combination with slightly fewer miles. I paid $4,000 and I got it with a hardtop. The car is rust free with no accidents and tasteful suspension modifications.

Hi Rob. I bought a 1995 model with the 1.8 l engine and maybe 20k fewer miles with a hardtop for just over $4,000. I’m sure there are a few people here who think I paid too much, but wtg the exception of the color, I got exactly what I was looking for: a straight, solid, rust free first gen Miata with every option box

You need empirical evidence to prove the driver can’t see what’s right in front of him at a stoplight? Or that his headlights are useless at night?

My mechanic specializes in British marques. He’s also a client, so I’m in his office from time to time. Every time an Aston pulls up, he salivates. It’s not that he’s a rip off artist. It literally takes 11 man hours to remove the torque tube which is required to service the clutch. The clutch that has to be replaced

Now playing

Of course this woman will be prosecuted, but even if that fails, does anyone think she’ll be allowed to set foot in an airport ever again? 500 miles is an eight hour drive down I-5 and that’d be the fastest mode of travel. Rail takes between 12 and 16 hours.

This might be my favorite car review. Given the subject matter, I don’t think any car will top it. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a15152105/bugatti-veyron-164-road-test/

Of course not. I maintain the same situational awareness that you do, but your left side, right side and rear view mirrors won’t show you an object close to the vehicle on the driveway, nor will it warn you of pedestrian or vehicular cross traffic in a parking lot.

Bullshit. Not every car out there is a greenhouse. High belt lines and modern crash standards have seen to that. It’s nice that you can swivel your head and see out the back, but I guarantee even your car doesn’t make it easy to see a child sitting on the driveway because that shit happens 50 times each week.

Elizabeth - I must know: Did Buce-ee’s have the trailer hitch or not?!?

I wish I could say I’m fine with this because Darwin award blah blah blah. I just know there will be plenty of innocent lives destroyed by this level of stupidity.

This how I would price my project Miata (95, 190k miles, no rust, all options) if my wife told me to sell it. “Sorry hon. No one seems to want it.”

I remember balking at TiVo for their price model, which is similar. You buy the hardware for X dollars. You then have to pay for the data service that keeps the box working for Y dollars. If you choose not to pay for the data service up front, you can pay a much smaller monthly fee to enjoy the TiVo.
