Everything you said is 100% true, but there is a counterpoint: Alcantara provides a LOT of friction to hold you against lateral acceleration without additional seat bolsters. I reupholstered the seats in my Miata this way and I could not be more pleased with the outcome. It’s the only exception to Andrew’s “look,

As fun as it would be to “blast up and down” the Blue Ridge Parkway, it seems like a quick way to get charged with reckless driving. I drove the BRP in my Miata. The speed limit was something like 35 mph. I remember thinking it’d be a lot more fun if I could do it at 45 or 50. Enough speed to make it fun, yet slow

Not sure I’m buying this theory. There are only four ways to spend money.

Honestly, in my case, it’s already been bred.

My wife bought the XT5 crossover last year. As infotainment systems go, the CUE isn’t bad to touch and make changes. The voice system is a real clunker though. My 2005 Acura TL we traded for it did a better job. Granted, I had to program the phone book myself but it WORKED. Press button, say name, phone dials.

Perhaps, but that Simpson body kit tho. Really, REALLY well executed from what I can see.

I’m down with Torch on this one. It doesn’t sound like Nicholas is on much of a schedule. It ticks all the checkboxes he mentioned. And pooping anytime the mood suits you is true freedom. You save on lodging and you can park in any Walmart you want for free! (I’m not a big fan of Walmart, but this is an excellent

Jenga time made me LOL

I didn’t say it was good art. Ever walk through a modern art museum? There’s lots of stuff in there most people wouldn’t pay for.

Well put. I’ve seen better conversions go for $15k, but none with body work like that. The Simpson kit is expensive and rare and this conversion appears to be very well executed. This is art and it has a very narrow market, but there may be a buyer for it. I hope the seller has a LOT of patience.

I’d accuse the seller of smoking something, but it’s not CP territory. That said, I wouldn’t spend my own cash on it. I just recognize that time, effort and workmanship have value for the right buyer. The 302 conversion is old-school Monster Miata stuff and it makes the car handle with all of the grace of a greased

Before the LS conversion, there was a Ford 302 conversion back in the 90s. The 5.0L Mustang engine was not a good setup in the Miata. It screwed up the 50/50 weight distribution. Changing the suspension components doesn’t restore the tossability. Back then, lots of guys wanted to say they have a Miata with “something

I love Miatas. I have two. I know the first and second gen models inside and out. If you want one like this and try have one built for yourself, you’ll spend a lot more. A properly sorted old school Monster Miata with a Simpson body kit for $27k is not an unreasonable ask.

Jeez, this is the second stupid money grab I’ve seen tonight. We bought a MyQ garage door opener and those bastards want to make people pay to control their door with the Amazon Echo or Google Home. Apparently IFTTT has a “premium” membership where you can pay 10 dollars a year IN PERPETUITY for the whiz-bang thrill

I was visiting family and high school friends when, while in Wake Forest, NC, my wife called to tell me she forgot she’d bought a Groupon for some party a TV chef was throwing for their new book and could I please, Please, PLEASE be home for it?

That’s a fantastic hood ornament, and it looks great on his CT6, despite the decades of time separating the two elements.

Analog speedos are simply easier to read with your peripheral vision. The tachometer is important, but I generally don’t look at it - especially in cars I know well because I listen to the revs when I’m shifting.

I had to google “Burzum” to figure out what you were getting at. Pretty cool in an odd way.
