I have the same thoughts in my turbo Miata. For 930 owners, you basically have to forget half the safety lecture they gave you in driver’s ed. Steering correction has to be done under power or you essentially perform a J-turn in a forward gear.

Porsche 930. Turbo lag with tons of torque and a rear engine. The car doesn’t oversteer when you lift off - it pirouettes.

There is one counterpoint to consider. Alcantara upholstery holds your body better, which means you don’t have to rely as much on side bolsters to keep you in place during heavy cornering. I reupholstered my old torn up cloth Miata seats with leather surrounds and alcantara centers.
