These past few Cannes write-ups have had much quieter comment sections than the one with the Personal Shopper review. Man, people must really like Olivier Assayas movies or something.

I've seen almost all positive reviews for Loving, but in the same way something like, say, The Imitation Game was positively reviewed. Which is still a disappointment considering Nichols' films so far have been more idiosyncratic.
I imagine critics' praise for it would be milder these days, but the average moviegoer still absolutely loves it, in my experience
I don't know if it qualifies as a "beloved masterpiece," but one of my least favorite films ever is Forrest Gump, which some people love so much they feel personally attacked when you say you don't like it.
Hoping to see these picks this week: All the President's Men, Ace in the Hole, Park Row, Shattered Glass…
Good list. Audition, It Follows, The House of the Devil, Drag Me to Hell, Let the Right One In, Trouble Every Day and The Host would all be high on my list.
Pretty impressed with myself, guessed 18 out of these 20 correctly. I didn't know if It's Such a Beautiful Day would qualify and thought Whiplash might sneak on here, but would've never guessed Scott Pilgrim vs. the World:

Yeah, way too divisive. I really disliked it, for instance, but I know it has a lot of fans here.
My predictions for the top 20:
The Act of Killing, Before Midnight, Boyhood, Certified Copy, Dogtooth, Frances Ha, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Her, Holy Motors, Inside Llewyn Davis, It's Such a Beautiful Day, Margaret, The Master, A Separation, The Social Network, Two Days, One Night, The Tree of Life, Under the Skin,…
Thanks. I was majorly disappointed by Nymphomaniac, Vol. 2, but found Vol. 1 humorous and playful in a way LVT rarely is these days.
Way too movies left to see to have a definitive list, but so far of what I've seen:
Least surprising user comment history here…
Most of my favorite scenes of the year made the list: visiting the classroom in Snowpiercer, seducing the man with neurofibromatosis in Under the Skin, the whoring bed in Nymphomaniac, Vol. 1…
If you missed it, David Anthony put it at #1 on his list (avclub.com/article/best-mus…. Can't vouch that highly for it, but I liked it. Really excited for the new Shinobu record next year.

The mental image of Ignatiy Vishnevetsky at a candy expo, determining the best film theory comparison to make while reviewing candy chews, is delightful.
