Airbags are not supposed to go off unless the crash severity is bad enough to warrant it. The windshield didn’t even get smashed in from this impact, only the front empty frunk crumple zone got bent up.

Considering how soft the contents of the truck were, airbags might not have been needed.

The airbag didn’t go off because even the car thought the driver is a moron. It just wanted to teach the driver a lesson. Nothing feels more refreshing than hitting your melon against the steering wheel.

AEB and all major level 2 self driving cars on the market DO NOT STOP FOR STATIONARY OBJECTS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS BY DESIGN. This is not just Tesla. It’s a driver not paying attention, period. Blaming the car is absurd.

I do agree with this.  Fun as they are to ride, the risk is beyond nuts.  I know 2 people who died before 35 and 2 who had horrific injuries they are still recovering from years later, and all were very attentive and skilled riders.

It scares me how many riders go without helmets. Recently I was on a day trip with a friend. We came up on a pack of about a hundred motorcycles.
