Hey, saw you mentioned me here, just wanted to say I never intended to imply I was “only” looking for a roommate/housitter. I went in with a clear goal of finding someone with whom I would share a bed while in town. The “sugar” I offered was a furnished multi thousand dollar a month apartment in a good location. In

I mean there are so many so naive/silly people out there though. I signed up for a sugar website to find someone who needed a place to stay and didn’t mind being roomates.  I had a nice apartment in an expensive city and was traveling 75% of the time for work. So it seemed silly to leave the place empty, but it was a

Yep, that ought to do it. Well that or invent a magic device to use a spare Busso I have lying around to make one exhaust note at like 12k simulated rpm. But seriously, I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t dreamed of some black magic like finding a crankshaft from a 2.0 Italian market Busso and short stroking a 3.2 Busso

Not having enough service to a home is probably not at all an uncommon story. I have a 30amp 220 fuse box(yes, old with fuses) in my garage but only 15 amps 110 to the garage and only 100amps service to my 1954 house. Couldn’t run a second wire to my garage reasonably without upgrading the whole service. Luckily I’m

Or maybe he meant, “Florida QB who then didn’t do much in the NFL but has remained hungry to stay in the spotlight however possible” or something like that. That’s how I read it, since for being nobodies I still hear way too much about both of these guys. Never would have imagined he meant anything about

I drove Nevada plated cars in LA for like 5 years with no trouble (and another year in NC with the same plates. All with an Ohio License!) just had the cars “owned” by relatives in Nevada, had myself as an insured driver on some policy at another relative’s Ohio address and claimed I was on a road trip borrowing the

Except that it’s a Dino V6, not Alfa’s Busso V6 in any original Stratos. The Busso V6 wasn’t available anywhere u til the Alfa Sei in 1979. They are somewhat comparable and the busso is often used in Stratos replicas.

I was thinking the same thing, though I think your simpler solution is actually better than mine

True. Didn’t mean for the percentages to be indicative of the design quality, just the huge gulf that can exist within failure. If I were assigning scores to the front ends of these trucks I would have said 5% for the standard trim (at least it got its name right!) and maybe 30% for the high country (stupidly tall, hor

Still really bad but so much better. Like how 20% and 55% are both ‘F’ grades but one is more than twice the other.

That you can look at you passenger for a minute at a time while talking and not crash. Every car dialogue scene makes the driver do a terrible mime job of “driving” while staring right at their passenger and occasionally glancing at the road. Would acting like a sane driver really ruin the scene?

If an industry or business can be killed by treating labor with dignity and respect it was already dead at least from a moral perspective and honestly closer to a shambling zombie corpse at best from a business perspective.

Always been so happy and impressed by his pro career, he’s been so much better than I would have expected from college. I honestly thought it would be best for him to stay at USC another year and then maybe do a couple in the NBA before having to play back home.

Generally true, but I have a 2014 model year car that officially can’t hit 110, and it’s a Cadillac! The Voltec powertrain is not at all overpowered but I get 6mph over the Volt itself if I really need to hit 106 instead of 100!

Yeah, I understand why they are small inside it’s just pretty frustrating and silly anyway. We could never upgrade the Suburban because the whole point of it was to move 5+ adults and equipment (skis, bikes, rafts, boats, trailes, etc) regularly in the mountains which there isn’t really a great modern solution for

More than the 454, let alone the little engines, in a 90s Suburban. Which never feels slow even if it technically may be. Big monsters like this need the torque down low to get moving and then they feel fine even if it takes like 8-10s to get to 60 and the gearing plus low redline top out around 85mhp. So what’s

That’s what seems so weird to me about modern big SUVs, they are so much smaller than they were 20 or so years ago on the inside. The 3rd row on my Parent’s 95 Suburban is a little narrow for 3, since it is pinched by the wheels, bit it is as cushioned and comfortable and substantial as the others in the car and still

There are AMG S classes, S8 audis and V12 7 Series though, so it’s not crazy to think that offering 500+ HP and at least a V8 is part of the game for establishing a flagship large luxury sedan. All three of those models have been available with over 600HP, so even the CT6 V would be on the low end of ‘keeping up’ with

Yes, but knowing the powerful one exists gets everyone to come in and look at/want the pedestrian ones. Or so the theory goes. Of course I’m likely to buy the base model for price reasons but I feel good about it because there’s a kick ass version and mine is cool by association. If the big Caddy has only 4 and 6

That’s how I feel about my ELR, trunk opening is stupid with the short rear deck but the roofline would make for a sweet hatch! Yes, there are probably a million engineering reasons why that car probably wouldn’t work that way, but ergonomically or whatever it would be so much better!
