I don't really agree. Finding a significant omnibus F may give reason to probe further (using t-tests or other single-degree-of-freedom tests), but it doesn't necessarily give you a pass on correcting for multiple comparisons. Even if you find a significant main effect for something (like groups of guys of different

I just went to mduzyj.com to browse the prints, but doesn't look like the store is up at the moment. Is there link available to a good gallery of available prints?

I thought these were AT-ST walkers at first glance :)

Is that a Zack Morris phone or a hair dryer?

A usage correction would definitely be a good idea. Something like EPVA/(time with ball in hand+time guarding guy with the ball) would give a better indicator of a player's value regardless of position. Maybe then we'd see more centers and forwards on this list?

I think QBs in football are a good analogy to use here, at least when looking at offensive performance. QBs handle the ball on just about every offensive play, so you see their performance having a much bigger effect on win probabilities than other positions. Having a beard does indeed save on shaving supplies - I shave about twice a week around my cheeks and neck, and that really increases the longevity of my razor cartridges.

Cool visualizations. I wonder if there's any correlation between per capita college players from a certain county and income levels - there's that old idea that kids are more motivated to get out of really crappy towns (looking at you, Gary and Toledo), so you'd expect more college players per capita from those areas,

Thanks for the reply, Michael.

I gotta say, I love this site, and the work you guys are doing. Just a few quick questions (it seems like y'all actually use the comments as a sort of peer-review process):

Are there seriously no other BBWA members who had considered something like this though? Seems like sportswriters are categorically pissed off about this, but if 1/571 felt strongly enough that the process needed to change that he turned his vote over to the fans, it doesn't seem like a stretch that there are at least

Don't worry 6'2" guy. Those of us who are taller than average tend to make more money and get more dates than shorter dudes!

Had exactly the same experience. Brilliant.

Not crazy, I do the same thing. Get that shit going before work, and the feast is ready when I get home.

Completely agree. I'm not a qualified diagnostician of mental illness, but I don't see healthy people acting out like this so frequently. Whether this is mental illness or substance abuse problems (I haven't read any rumors about that, but addiction is certainly another road to idiocy), I hope he gets some help sooner

Who gets down at the shoe store? Jay Mariotti gets down at the shoe store.

Nobody made one of these yet?

That, or Diaz is a malfunctioning Terminator.
