I just pull the battery out of mine when I'm cooking smokey things, and my wife puts it back in 3 months later when she gets sick of wondering why there's an oddly shaped battery sitting next to the coffee maker.

That one made my smoke go down the wrong tube. +1
That does sound tasty, but can be made with even less effort. Put pork shoulder in crockpot, fat side down. Cover in beer, onions/garlic/jalapenos, and your favorite BBQ sauce (which can be hacked together with tomato pastes and other seasonings). Turn crockpot on high and come back 6-10 hours later. Riding with a friend once on the Ohio turnpike (in a late-90's sedan in great shape, but with out of state plates), we got pulled over for doing 67 in a 65, then searched because the driver was "overly polite" (per the police report). Nothing turned up from the search stuck in court (fortunately the judge decided that…

How difficult is it to prove/disprove that someone else used your internet connection for something like this? Would any potential pirate using wifi be able to make such a claim?
I think some additional family time can be beneficial for adults struggling with health problems (including addiction), but I agree 100% that the workload of an NFL head coach can have deleterious consequences on child rearing and family life. I'm curious if the suicide rate for children of any high-workload…
Yep, I subscribe to 6 or 7 through iTunes, and I listen to them on the train or walking through campus.
I can see that, but is it necessarily true? Are there no reasonable checks that could be put into place to make weaponizing these space lasers a seriously difficult thing to do?
I wonder if this kind of charging system could be developed on a (much) larger scale. Wouldn't it be amazing, if we were able to put together a gigantic orbiting array of solar panels, which were able to direct some of the solar energy they collected back to earth via laser? I'm sure there are some giant hurdles in…
