Keep in mind that when people like him say stuff like that they are speaking from their own economic position. You know, people who can afford to pay that much to “upgrade”.

Gas, oil and coal companies certainly have influence and can hold back progress in energy tech to protect their interests, but there’s a huge difference between “a Canadian solar company” and one of the 2 or 3 largest military contractors in the world. Startups and minnows may get crushed beneath the weight of the…
Huh? Germany makes only 6% of its power from solar.
This ain’t the way to the future. Lockheed Martin is working on miniature fusion reactors that would produce virtually free electricity. Let’s do that.
Once he can meet deadlines then we can take his word on things being manageable.
How are we going to charge the batteries? Solar power? That can’t work for all of the people all of the time. I’m not saying it’s a bad concept, I’m just saying I’m not sure building battery factories should be the focal point of funding for aiding developing nations.
Thank you.
Musk’s answer is that, with his batteries, they won’t need to bother with building power plants
Why are you poking at GM? By the time Tesla gets around to launching the Model 3, GM will have sold significantly more EVs than Tesla.
The average new car is $33k. The Tesla Model 3 is going to start over $40k. The only Model 3s getting Federal credits are going to be fully-optioned models with a $50+k sticker. Nobody is getting a Model 3 for $33k.
It’s not sustainable. That’s Tesla’s problem. When everybody generates their own credits, demand is down across the board *and* supply is up across multiple sellers. At that point, Tesla’s credits lose a lot of value, and Tesla can’t use them to prop up a failed business model.
If sci-fi TV shows are that important to you, influence you that much and reflect your understanding of the world, there may be a larger issue that needs to be dealt with.
No, that’s not what’s happening. A cursory read of the reactions in question would reveal that. Even the very first link says Westworld is “presenting compelling women and then subjecting them to scenarios that rob them of their dignity”. So what? Who cares? They’re not real! Their dignity doesn’t matter! The article…
The treatment of women and minorities in fiction isn’t real. People react to it as if it is. This, specifically, is what is being criticized here, not art criticism. Complaining about what happens in a work of fiction isn’t art criticism, it’s entitled fandom bullshit.
It’s fucked that you felt the need to write this.
This is your best take by far.
...and yet somehow you’re ignoring all the fixed costs, R&D expenses, CGS, and all the other expenses that cut down that gross margin. Yes, they managed 2.3B in revenue the previous quarter, but lets notforget that without the $139M in credits, they’d have had another quarter of ~$28M + losses.
If you do not like it, don’t watch it
I don’t think the tax credits are really a long term business model for Tesla. I think they’re necessary until their gigafactory is finished and the Model 3 is on the market.
The auto industry is tough. You lose a shit ton of money every day that you’re building a factory and production capacity, and not producing…
He wants stricter zero-emissions standards that would boost demand for electric vehicles, including Tesla’s, and force other automakers to sell more of these models instead of using credits to meet their goals more money.
