Simply it is cheaper for GM to carry the cost of having a train full of cars on their books for 2 weeks than pay the higher price that hyperloop would cost. The capital costs for the extensive freight rail systems has been paid. Hyperloop will need to include capital costs in their price.

3 is my favorite talking point from the pro-hyperloop types because that is the giveaway they don’t understand modern transportation systems. You either want fast or cheap. Sending coal from WY or cars from a plant in Alabama across the country needs only be cheap. The minor carrying cost of having a car or coal still

Not enough concern has been given about the awful takes and the thousands of articles that the Joker will produce about its place in society when it is you know a comic book movie.

OH bullshit. There was dozens of comments applauding that move and making up some bullshit that it is standard procedure and this is on the gawker family of sites.

Bail is supposed to be about insuring a defendant shows up to future court appearances. No one is running when the worst-case punishment they will receive is less than 6 months in minium-security federal confinement. A million dollars is there to punish them and make it harder for them to raise funds for a defense.

Let me guess you have a PBA sticker on your car.

Stop it. I did not say that and you just want to build this strawman.

The coaches and members of the athletic department involved have been charged in this case.

Yep and it is sad how easy the formula works. US Attorney says X is bad and loads up the charges and you will have more than enough boot lickers repeating them and hoping that x is thrown in jail and we forgot were the keys are.

Maybe that happens but I doubt it. Just look at some of the comments here. Especially look at comments the last year that this case has gone down on the Kinja sites. This should be a demo that welcomes criminal justice reform and they are getting off on the thought the accused spend years in jail. And this case is by

In this case? Yes. They made a mistake of using a 3rd party instead of just writing a 500,000 dollar check to USC. She writes the check for 500k her kid gets in to the school. That is fine and legal.

If I was betting I would still bet at most Huffman receives 6 weeks of house arrest with Time Served the most likely outcome and this month of jail the least likely when it actually comes time for sentencing.

This is a case where if there was no famous/newsworthy people there is little to no chance that this case would have moved forward. No US Attorney’s office would have approved the resources for this case. This was always going to produce just a month of house arrest, a fine and community service this case only has

That that you will be able to read this but next stop is the shadowban. Former poster that was first demoted to greys.

You are not for criminal justice reform if you support this bullshit and the way the US attorney and FBI have handled this case. I have seen plenty of people here at AV and the related sites applaud the FBI for arresting the parents with guns drawn. Yeah not like this attitude of lock and load leads to dead black boys

Peer review research says that food deserts play next to no part in obesity. The amount of people that live in a Food Desert has dropped 15 percent over the last 10 years while obesity has continued to sky rocket. A quote I like from a food-policy expert on this subject “I have seldom found a body of evidence with

We will talk about everything else but CICO. And when we do talk about CICO it will be out and out Anti Science and denialism about how CICO is to simple or the body works differently or like you said macros and carbs or the billion excuses errr conditions they have that make them the one that breaks physics.

Talking about food deserts is pointless. 40 percent of the US population is now obese with another 30 percent overweight. Every social-economic group outside of Asian-Americans are majority overweight/obese.

It is confirmation bias for “intellectuals” to look down their nose at the unwashed masses that eat at McDonalds and go yeah that is why they are fat and unhealthy. It also let everyone else including Coke off the hook except for McDonalds for the problems of obesity.

“fast food companies are irresponsibly marketing and selling horrible food, largely to people who are victimized by capitalism in general.”
