You've liked quite a few of my comments over the years. You're alright.

I'd also say that, if the fans like it, it does achieve a type of quality. Like Ebert's "does it achieve its goals?" rubric for grading films.

No, you're right. But I challenge you to find a bad review that doesn't spend significant time on what this show should have been (wrong casting, wrong focus, wrong whatever) rather than what it is.

I think Luke Cage is a lot better than DD S2, and I like the closing stretch more than most… but it definitely takes a dive after Cottonmouth dies.

I've been here 10 years. :(

That's good. Although that's very similar to Angel's ending.

Angel in: Calvinism vs. Free Will!

That whole episode is awful. I always skip it.

Of course, there's a thematic difference between the two shows that makes something like that much harder to pull off on Buffy. With Angel, he never really wins a war. he just… keeps fighting the battles, and that's ok. With Buffy, the seasons mostly ended with actual victory.

Thank you so much for mentioning that speech. One of the best parts in either show.

I have no idea if this show will be good. But I HATE this kind of crap and it's in every newswire now:

Ha!

Yeah. Also, I didn't watch live so I can't say for sure, but I'd say having bear the brunt of both a) Willow and Oz ending and b) Willow coming out was quite a lot for a brand new, more internal character to take on. It's a wonder she recovered. By the time she died in S6, I don't think there's any character who would

That's fair.

"GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OOOOOUT!" was so bad it took me the rest of the season to come around on Dawn. But she's good in S6 and Potential is one of the only good episodes of S7 (and it's the rare good late-season Xander ep too).

I like Spike an awful lot, though I prefer Angel, but he was terrible in S7. The Spike and Buffy vs everyone else is one of the things that kills that season for me.

She's fantastic in S5 and 6. I think most of the dislike comes from S4, where she isn't a very dynamic character. She's one of the only characters that greatly benefited from Dawn joining up—their relationship was cool.

If there was more forward momentum (or maybe I should say, if the things that happened had a little more gravity), I'd love it. But as it is I still really enjoy watching it. It's fun and pulpy.

Beverly Hillbillies is a very good show. I have no idea how it got lumped in with dross like Gilligan's Island. It and Andy Griffith are two of my favorite sitcoms.

I think Gotham is kind of bad, but not in the way most of the commenters here do. Mostly, I find it exhausting sometimes because they burn through tons and tons of plot but it feels like nothing actually happens episode to episode. I'm still watching it becaue that's also what I LIKE about it…
