I’ll allow it but watch yourself counselor!

Votto doesn’t like to play baseball the Wright way.

So McCarthy was right, the Reds are out to crush all semblance of joy.

*A rabid Mike Shanahan, red-faced and grimacing, rushes out of his condo, picks up the ball and angrily heaves it back over the fence*

“Yeah, but then he got to sit down, maybe grab a little 3rd dinner, and chill for the rest of the game. And he didn’t have to run anymore. Who’s laughing now?”

It’s not easy stealing green.

Looks like the pitcher’s gonna have to....BEAR down harder next time! WACHA-WACHA!

These posts make me unreasonably happy. Although, seeing is how it’s schadenfreude at the expense of Cardinals fans, perhaps it isn’t so unreasonable.

I don’t think anyone is invalidating the 73 wins. It was an amazing accomplishment. What is being invalidated is the “one of the greatest teams ever” argument. The truth is, last year GS got incredibly lucky throughout the playoffs. In almost every round they played a team that had lost at least one key piece of its

Oh yeah, I remember all those games where Larry Bird was tackled at half court.

It IS the beautiful game. If you like pugilism, there’s always MMA.

The irony being the only cheap shots came from Golden State via a couple groin attacks by Green. I applaud Draymond for trying to get old school to rile up his squad, but I think Steph and Clay were legit afraid of the physicality of OKC.

I’m perfectly OK with that garbage stuff gone. If you can’t hack it to the point you have to straight sucker-smack someone, you deserve the Kevin Nash quad disease. Hard fouls are OK, but cheap shots, yeah, don’t really care for it, “iz bush-league psych-out stuff!”

Go back 25 years and a player would never get on fire like Steph without being clotheslined at half court by some goon from the bench just to make him a little less happy, and more nervous.

You truly believe they were better off WITHOUT Irving and Love?

I just created an account to tell you how fucking dumb this argument is. Game 1 of the 2015 finals went to overtime WITH Irving. You do not get addition by subtraction when JR Smith and Delly are your 2nd and 3rd scoring options. This is a dumb argument and you should feel bad for saying it.

I’m not a huge fan of any of the “all-in-one player assessment” stats, but I went to basketball-reference to check what the 1996 equivalent of a Durant/Westbrook team would be. Interesting to see the shift in what types of player were valuable under the old rules: the ‘96 lists are basically Jordan plus a bunch of

Yeah, fuck the Warriors for getting their ass kicked by a team with two of the top 5 players in the league. All the old-school players chiming in on this will be nigh-insufferable, like Cardinals-enforcing-unwritten-rules insufferable

One thing I haven’t seen anyone talk about is the physicality with which OKC is covering Curry. They haven’t been letting him run free around those screens like usual, which oddly enough I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else even try to do.

Man, I love all these hot takers who think the last two years of basketball have been invalidated by a team with Westbrook and Durant and a healthy/good enough supporting cast peaking at the right time and playing with volcanic intensity.
