I say that we should let Darwin continue in his good work. If the amateur speed bump does any damage to a car, his estate should be liable for the repair expense.

I’d daily drive the hell out of that thing!

“Meh. Too much solid sheetmetal. CP all day long.”

The price for any vehicle in this condition, age and mileage is pretty good. The fact that it’s a VW, with its attendant repair costs, nudge this in the CP column for me.

I’d take David Tracy over an HOA every time.

“It may drive me to the brink...”

I’d buy one in a heartbeat. Gives off a Ferrari kinda vibe. What’s the over/under on when the kits appear in the US?

I always had a jones for the GMC Typhoon version.

Did that battery have screw caps to check the electrolyte level and top off as needed?

To me, he’s always been “Bib, the Michelin Man”.

I’d need a continuous near-lethal amount of Adderall on a continuous IV drip to come anywhere near the dedication and concentration needed to do something like this.

You have up to 30 days post-burial to apply for the permit. Who’s this “you” they are talking about? The deceased? What are they gonna do? Haul him up and give him a ticket?

It’s too nice for David. Nowhere near enough rot, wear and general degradation for the likes of Mr. Tracy.

Before my spinal cord injury, I’d stop and help anyone broken down. I used to carry a near-full compliment of emergency roadside repair tools and materials (a youth chock-full of craptastic vehicles ensured that I had plenty of ad-hoc repair experience.)

Based on the rule that there is no more expensive vehicle than a used German car, I’d normally vote automatic CP. Regardless, for this vehicle at this price and banking on doing many of the repairs myself, I went NP.

Might not seem like important stuff, but I’m handicapped and these things make my life easier in little ways:

Aye, Matey, send this Type Arrrr to Davy Jones locker. Hand carved meerschaum CP all day long.

I have a Trailblazer with the 4.2 I-6 in it. I grant you that it’s a nice engine, but the 5.3 LS v8 got better gas mileage and has way more aftermarket support.

Ahhh... the ever-popular “percussive maintenance” solution.

This is the go-kart of my yoot!
