I’ll see you on Fox and raise you on MSNBC!

Indycar is the best racing that nobody knows about. Patrick George brought this home in his Mid Ohio coverage. Basically, open wheeled racing has never fully recovered from the Tony George IRL/CART schism. I vividly remember when CART had racing that rivaled F1. The lead up to the Indy 500 was filled with electricity

Truly objective journalism does not exist. This. This article basically lays out almost all journalism, not just that which is tailored for automotive news. If people could just understand that much of what we read is subjective and full of bias, it would better put things into perspective. Sadly, as was pointed out,

I wish there had been a chart like this back during WW2. Imagine how many planes the US had in combat during the war. Just looking at the chart shows how much the Air Force has scaled down since the second world war, although the quality is much greater.

Time warp? Back to 1969? Gee, in the fall of 1969, I started my senior year in high school, which for me does not seem like that long ago, although I guess it is. Times were quite different as the film indicates and what Collin pointed out. Men only flew planes while women could be stewardesses. Pretty much the same

After the Can Am series died in 1974, I needed a new high octane fix and I found it. This is the time when Porsche had the 934 which later evolved into the 935. The FIA had introduced the Group 5 “silhouette” rules, which allowed major modifications as long as the “silhouette” was the same. Porsche, finding a couple

Always hate to see crashes whether at air shows or during training missions.

Driving down the road driving fast is stupid, but not necessarily street racing.

No, you speak for yourself. He is not projecting himself on us, but you certainly are.

Spot on post. “Street racing” seems to be a catchall phrase when cars are exceeding the speed limit. Our licensing system has been flawed from day one. Incompetent drivers and unsafe vehicles litter our roads. Throw in texting, distracted driving and alcohol and the cocktail is even more deadly. And, teenagers do

I have never seen that photo before. For a moment in time, it looked like the US and Russia were going to get along and move forward together. There was so much hope after Yeltsin took power and for awhile, Russia could barely get any planes into the air for training. As you said Tyler, the two countries together

You frickin’ asshole. I made it clear that any loss of life is terrible. More, I said that the loss of valuable warbirds was also terrible. Learn to read asswipe. I cannot believe the stupidity of people on Jalopnik...

The orientation of the wrench you described would have had more load bearing than the way it is pictured. I am curious though how placing the wrench vertically on its side rather than flat would have worked with those hose clamps? Given how flimsy hose clamps can be, I marvel at them even being able to continue at

When I went to Mid-Ohio for a Camel GT race back in the day, two of my favorite vantage points were the Esses, Thunder valley and the Carousel. I imagine that the Indycars are really putting on a good show as they are very entertaining to watch. Enjoy your weekend Patrick. Hope you can make it to Road America some day

Any loss of life and aircraft is terrible. But, to lose that Folland Gnat and heavily damage that Spitfire brings more tears to my eyes because like the pilot of the Gnat, they are irreplaceable.

This all comes to play at an F1 race. After Lewis and Nico check out, the real racing is behind them, something unfortunately all too familiar with F1. When cars are closely matched in lap times, that is when the real fun begins. Years ago when there were huge Formula Ford fields, the best racing was much like what is

Went to Mid-Ohio in 1976 for a Camel GT race. The track features so many elevation changes and undulations. Plus, there are great spectating areas. I would have loved to have gone there either for a Can Am race or IMSA GTP race. I am sure the Indycar drivers will put on a good show. Enjoy yourself Patrick!

Two types of refueling have always amazed me: One is of course in flight refueling and the other is at sea refueling. Trying to sync speed and bobbing and weaving is simply incredible. Those air crew flying the airborne gas stations need a special shout out because they keep missions running smoothly. Another great

Very moving pictures. I salute our men and women in uniform!

Sweet!
