You sound pretty pretentious as well to me, boasting about how you build your own computers but not realising that it has nothing to do with UI / UX design.

The maps feature may be Android only, I'm not sure. But my contact birthdays show up in my calendar on a desktop.

I love how google contacts show up in Maps and Calendar.. Very handy.

I did the same for a few years but recently removed the places which were no longer needed as it was clogging my map up.

Thank god for XBMC is all I can say.
