Google+ is such a nice website to use, I cant wait for it to overtake Facebook.
The maps feature may be Android only, I'm not sure. But my contact birthdays show up in my calendar on a desktop.
I love how google contacts show up in Maps and Calendar.. Very handy.
I did the same for a few years but recently removed the places which were no longer needed as it was clogging my map up.
Thank god for XBMC is all I can say.

I'm not saying it's slow, but it's A LOT slower than Foobar and others.
