Either my comment didn't post for some reason or it was deleted.

The Bible is much more than "The Golden Rule" and love is defined much more comprehensively than what you mentioned.

I really don't want to take the time to refute every straw man you post. However, if you are in the U.S. and have at least a Masters degree we can perhaps have a face to face debate in front of an audience. That way this can be laid to rest very quickly within 2-3 hours. I travel extensively and am planning on

Oh boy, you are making a mess of this.

WHAT is love? Please define it.

Sure, there were moral laws in the Old Testament (and New Testament) against homosexuality, murder, theft, lying (and all of its forms), adultery, etc.

I would never say that. However, I think you may be misstating what a Christian has said to you. I, as a Christian, would tell you that you have no ground, no foundation for an objective universal invariant moral code given your atheistic worldview.

What is YOUR ground for objective morality? If it is all opinion and subjective (i.e. relativistic) then there is NO morality and your mere opinion is not binding on others. Social contract theory fails for that simple reason.

That wasn't my question.
As for what you brought up, the gullible townspeople were conditioned by the coincidence of the earthquake to expect another "miracle". The movie dealt with that well by the anticipated repercussions of that "miracle" (innocent children dying, American soldiers being executed, etc.).

Do any of you geniuses know why the atomic bomb was necessary to end the war? Do any of you have any idea what the Shinto religion taught and why the Japanese would have slaughtered millions if not stopped?
