They have electric scooters - you might not even tell them apart. China is full of them, but they are slower to launch in the USA. google for “electric mopeds college” to keep out of the kids stuff and elderly items. Battery for the tax break is larger than 2.5 kwh, so you might not find an applicable moped.

Very nice write up on the Alta. nothing fuels innovation like competition, so even as a Zero owner, I am quite impressed and eager to see more manufacturers releasing products.
