For several years many commentators, including me, have written about the parallels between the prewar era and the present.

Yes it does, and that’s why Trump employs undocumented workers and won’t prosecute others who do as well, which is also why your support of him is so laughingly stupid if your complaint is to be taken at face value.

Yes, people use “Baby Boom” as a slur, and in exactly the same way people use the n-word, and both of these words are nothing but overt bigotry.

So the capitalist game that ends with a single player having all the money and everyone else being destitute is played with exactly the same rules but now it’s labeled as “socialism” and is thus evil solely because of the label?

You posted three articles, two offering conjecture about lead poisoning causing the alleged mental illness and violence of “Baby Boomers” and another simply asserting that they are sociopaths and listing one of the possible reasons (among many, many other) as being lead poisoning.

My point is the “Baby Boom” isn’t something people experienced like 9/11, it’s simply a number, a statistical data point that says nothing about human behavior, and that fact invalidates the current obsession and inherent ageism associated with our current generational categorization silliness. Baby Boomer,

The “Baby Boom” is nothing more than a statistical spike in the birth rate that occurred between 1945 and 1964. Categorizing or explaining people’s behavior based on this number is comparable to categorizing people’s behavior based on, say, a greater than average rainfall during the same time period.

And as Republican Governor of California Ronald Reagan said back in 1971:

“In the past”? So did she recant what she said “in the past”? Because if she didn’t then she seems to have said exactly what you say she didn’t say.

Don’t you think it’s in bad faith for her to remain silent on how the Palestinian Authority treats LGBTQ people?

What, someone is trying to suggest King is an outlier in the Republican Party? The Republican president is a drooling racist.

I have a hard time getting my head around his supporters. They’re like a malignant, shuttered primitive tribe who seem to have had little interactions with the actual world, and certainly not society in any form.

“That plaque was put on the Statue of Liberty at almost the same time as the first public charge law was passed.”

Seems like an overreaction to me.

Could American Evangelicals become any more ridiculous?

The cane and limp suits him.

I’d forgotten about this movie so I googled Greg Stillson to get the bio of the Republican who would use a child as a human shield and I find I am surprised to remember that it was just a movie scene and not a real event.

I want a follow up next fall, as I’m curious for whom Mr. Anchado will vote

I want to cut them some slack, at least the patients who are in hospital beds and still in shock over, you know, almost being fucking murdered only to have Trump and the Secret Service trailing mewling sycophants show up to have a celebration at your bedside - this has got to be disconcerting at best. I’ve only seen
