Yeah, the E46 is on the want bad list. I have always lusted after that one. But I don’t see myself pulling the trigger because of the potential issues. Funny thing is that I also lust after the 911 and would gladly take the gamble on a 996 IMS issues and all.

Oh no doubt, there are better track day toys for less. My point was that if I had the money and was in the market for one, I would have no qualms about wringing its neck at a track for shits and giggles. I understand that some people are in it to get the fastest lap regardless of how the car feels. That is why the GTR

If I had the means I would have no issue tracking an E30 M3. Not everything is about lap times after all. It would be the same reason I would drive the lug nuts of yesterdays 308.

This one seems like it is ripe for becoming the most lop sidded crack pipe in history. That many owners, that many miles, modified and 28.5k to boot? Yeah maybe if it wer 15k cheaper I would have thought about NP but this one is a big hell no for me.

The 918 effectively proves that you can have your cake and eat it too. Would I buy a hybrid Mustang? Well that would depend on the rest of the powertrain. I hear a DCT is possibly in the works for the Mustang as well.

It’s funny how far we have come since then. The Lamborghini Diablo which was the fastest production car on the road went 204 and had 492HP. Today we have four door sedans making 650 and 707HP and you can daily drive them comfortably and reliably.

You need to remember that this was way back in the late 80 very early 90s. The standard 911 only made something like 240 HP, and the tire shredding all conquering 911 Turbo from 94 only made 355 HP. I remember reading about some bat shit twin turbo foxbody race cars that only made 450. Back in the day 500 was possible

Lol that thing is not a ugly as I would have thought, but that might just be nostalgia talking. I think I have an very very old dupont registry magazine where they feature one that supposedly cost around 500k. I will try and find it if I can. I remember something about some bullshit claim of around 500hp and a top

Wow, I haven’t seen a Strosek since the early 90s, These along with Gemballa cars were all the rage for people with more money than brains back in the day. I even think Vanilla Ice had one in white. I can’t remember what if any performance mods they had though. Thanks for making me reminisce about my youth.

That is really crazy that there is that much of a difference in price between the AMG and the F Type R. I have never really been a fan of the front end of the AMG, but I think that is the only thing that puts me off on that car. Mercedes has set the 911 as their target with that car so it is not surprising that it

Lol yeah I seem to recall that the only reason that BMW kept offering manuals in their M cars was due to the requests from the NA market. The sad thing is I don’t think a whole lot of people are buying those either.

Wow, all I can say is wow! Thank you very much for the detailed write up. I was so very much interested in hearing about the potential issues that come with that model.

LOL that is totatly okay. In this instance I am happy to be wrong. Hope you had a Merry Christmas.

The only surprise on this list is the Acura and thats only because Honda’s are usually pretty good when you ask their owners. The real question is who in their right minds would knowingly buy some of these cars. The Dart sure a small good enough looking car I can see people buying. The Frontier that is probably older

You are correct, however I am not sure the you could get the GTS with the manual in the U.S. I think that was a euro only thing. I could be wrong though. This has been known to happen quite frequently.

I did the 911R as much as any car guy. I am definitely of the opinion that it is the best 991 911. That being said however, I still prefer the look of the 997.2 over the 991.

I was going to call you blasphemous for wanting to trade in a 997 for a Corvette, but then again I have never owned or driven one. I have however convinced myself that if I were to have one car for the rest of my days a 997.2 would probably be the car for me, with a manual of course.

lol I believe Doug did a piece on a current model XJ Supercharged not too long ago. I believe the car was for sale for around 30k. Yeah British build quality has never been that great. They make beautiful cars, but just not that great to own out of warranty.

You are not alone. I am of the opinion that the less expensive the F-Type the better it looks. My personal favorite is the V6S with the center exhaust. The V8 looses a bit of the looks without the center exhaust and the SVR with all that crap stuck on to it just makes it look gaudy. Almost early 00s ricer civic gaudy.

I think Holden and Ford over in Australia are big on this. They seem to get some really measely HP numbers out of supercharged Coyotes and LS’s over there. There is also the COPO and Cobra Jet cars that are probably making a metric shit ton more power than what is advertised.
