The Soviet Union was the perfect example of a Ghost Army. The current day Russians are not far behind if you ask me.

What are the numbers for China if you don’t mind me asking? I know they are “breathing down our necks” but their growth is unsustainable as far as I have read.
That is probably the best F-35 picture I have ever seen. God am I ever glad that they didn’t decide on the guppie looking X-32 design.
The coding for the F-35 is apparently exactly where they seem to be having problems as of late. I remember one of the first F-22 built had a computer glitch that made it belly flop onto the runway. I don’t really know if there will be a sixth gen manned fighter to be honest. The advances in laser and drone tech just…
From what I have read, aerial combat is all about conserving energy. Once you loose energy it is difficult to regain it. I remember reading how when the Su-27 would do the Cobra they would loose so much energy that they would nose down once they left the maneuver in order to maintain flight. The F-18 in this respect…
This is basically why the pugachev cobra is only good for air shows I guess. So much for Maverick and his hit the brakes and he will fly right by theory I guess.
You never build weapons systems thinking of current threats, you build them thinking of the future.
The FB-22 would still have the same problem that the F-22 would have though. Congress would not allow the export of that aircraft. At this point, this is less about capability and more about arming our allies with 5th gen fighters.
Eventually yes, I agree. At this point we have no other option but to stick it out and let the F-35 evolve into what it is supposed to be and try not to focus on what it currently is.
Yup, pretty much sums it up. I ocassionally throw in a rant about how we should have never stopped production of the F-22, but your post sounds about spot on.
Dude, really? I am not sure if you posted on my reply on purpose or if you posted by accident, but I never mentioned the F-35 anywhere.
So If I have learned anything from reading your posts, they deploy 12 in order to have at the most 6 flying at any given time. I get the psychological effect that the Raptors have especially with “Little” Man Dictator Un. In the end it is really nothing more than a game of mine is still bigger than yours.
If I am not mistaken the FB-22 was a concept similar to what the F-15E is today. The F-15A was initially designed with the mentality of “not a pound for air to ground”, pure air superiority fighter, that was designed to defeat the MIG-25 which was thought to be infinitely more capable than it really was. Essentially…
I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at both of the comments, internet stars for everyone!
Its not a fast jet so it gets cut, S-3 has fallen on the same chopping block and for the same reasons I would argue that the AF keeps trying to can the A-10.
Lets not forget it also has to go through the diferentials and the 4 wheel drive system. If that truck gets 300 hp to the tires I will be suprised. If it gets more, well that engine is seriously underrated.
How long would this thing take to actually charge the phone? Unless the output is greater than the phones consumption then this really wouldn’t charge, it would just slow down the battery loss, no?
So it looks like Nicola Teslas dream has finally come true.
The last paragraph sums it all up perfectly. There is a great documentary about nuclear weapons on youtube. I am at work right now so I can’t link it. When I heard 4.8 on the Richter scale, I thought to myself there is no way in hell that a Thermonuclear device detonated underground would only twitch the scales at…
There are a couple of things I would like to touch upon. First, Trump is a nut job, but he does make the occassional good point, even though he may do it in an incredibly ignorant and insutling manner. Second, the problem with gun control is that it only controls and hampers law abiding citizens. Background checks…
