Glad to see that, if nothing else, NieR Automata picked up the best music award. Very few games actually make me want to purchase the soundtrack individually, and NieR was one of only a couple since the turn of the century.

For some reason I feel like Michigan reigns supreme in mediocre pizza chains. Hungry Howie’s, Jet’s, Domino’s, Little Caesars, etc. Hungry Howie’s still wins probably 4 out of 5 times, though.
Yeah, if the tapes are any indication, he gets it up on number one, not number 2.
Last I checked, SF5 was ‘released’ before it was even half-finished, and the only difference with MVC:I is that the characters are being held back for a later date, to say nothing of the costumes. Pretty sure Capcom saw people complaining, realized they were still making money, and kept on trucking.
Unless they changed it, the 20% Prime discount extends to two weeks post-release. Plenty of time for actual player reviews and red flags to be publicized.
I get that Butch Jones has been a disappointment, but is your immediate backup plan really Brady Hoke? Like, the guy who had one good season with Michigan and who’s apparently spent this last season coaching the defense that just gave up fifty points to a mediocre Missouri team?
It’s not as if the game managed to magically vanish from the 60k PCs that installed it.I don’t know if it needs to pass a server check to run, but the files are still around for people to save/upload later.
The Vita’s problem was that, while Borderlands 2 was also scaled down and capped at 30FPS, it frequently couldn’t actually output 30 frames a second. It’s too early to say for certain, but it sounds like DOOM at least runs at a steady framerate.
900p with full areas dropping to 40PFS? This whole ‘true 4k experience’ with the X is so far beyond what I thought a console could provide.
Full-disk encryption is part of the Android spec from Marshmallow onwards, and enabled by default, unless you’re using a phone with very slow encryption performance. Barring super-budget prepaid phones or sketchy Chinese products, any new phone from the last two years is probably encrypted.
I think the last time I bought a ‘new’ Final Fantasy any time within a year of its release was the FFIV remake for the DS (not money well spent), but give me a Yoko Taro FF game and I’ll throw down the money for a preorder.
I mean, clearly, someone’s throwing around some small amount of change for this, but why? I feel like people who actually buy based on metacritic scores don’t care much about the user rating, unless Ubisoft is just trying to bring it up to match the paid review scores.
We can argue on and on about whether or not Skyrim was a ‘good’ game, but I enjoyed that it left you with a compass, and if you wanted more than that, you had to open a damn map. Granted, points of interest also showed up on the compass bar, and that could get distracting, but at least quest markers were easy enough…
I’m on board, but I’m curious about why Unreal Engine is the tool of choice here. Definitely not what comes to mind when you think JRPG. I hope it’s not a signal that it’s moving away from the traditional turn-based formula; that’s what spinoff franchises are for.
Yeah, it was already something like 112-115GB when I reinstalled it a couple months ago; I guess UWP doesn’t support basic concepts like ‘file compression’. I can deal with the ridiculous amount of HDD space, but the Windows Store continues to be the worst experience I’ve ever had with an authorized digital…
Is this the 2017 version of “I was only pretending to be retarded”?
Put it on your list - the plot’s somehow the dumbest of any of them, but it plays more like a real Star Fox than any of the other spinoffs.
More and more ISPs are implementing soft-caps - your first X GBs are included in your monthly cost, then it’s $10 or so for every Y GBs you go over the limit.
Hope someone got ejected for that shit. Suspended would be better, but I’ll take what I can get.
Yeah, the tone definitely seems like it’s taking a respectful look at teenage social issues, although without playing I can’t judge how well it’s actually handled. I just wonder how many people will be turned off by the pastel colors and princess dress-up costumes; usually it seems like female-lead RPGs need to be at…
