I don’t believe the items you’ve listed are synced, but rather, backed up. There’s a difference. Syncing would mean that if you added another device to your account, they’d remain in sync. For example, the stocks you’ve set up in the Stocks app. Backed up settings are just settings that would be restored from an

My point is that it doesn’t have to work 100% of the time. It isn’t black and white. It works when it works, and the reality is that it doesn’t matter when it doesn’t. You said people might cancel their prime subscriptions over it - but let’s be real - they won’t. I wouldn’t, and I’m a chronic spite-canceller.

It doesn’t have to shut the products out for the entire world - just for whatever sphere of influence Amazon has.

If you are diving into Lifehacker and CNet, you are no where near tech-illiterate. You can call yourself that, but believe me, there are people way more removed than you are. I’m referring to the people who have no idea how any technology works. It’s not that they’re “dumb”, as you put it, it’s that their knowledge of

Right, and so if your friend tells you to buy a Chromecast, so you head over to Amazon where you buy everything else, and you type in “Chromecast” - what do you see? Well, today, you see an ad (that looks kind of like a listing) for a Fire TV stick, then a Chromecast, then an actual listing for a Fire TV stick. What

I thought about that. I think in some cases people tell them to buy one. In others, they might have a need (watch Netflix, watch prime video, etc.) and in their search to watch it on their TV, discover that they need a streaming device.

Me thoughts on that are that Roku is neutral (one of the main reasons I love Roku). Apple and Google are both directly competing with Amazon in streaming media and elsewhere. If someone buys a Roku, they aren't necessarily pushed in any direction in terms of what to stream on it. Roku won't directly sell them content.

I can’t imagine people would go out and buy the Fire Stick rather than just learn to live without Amazon Video.

Fannie Mae’s new HomeReady mortgage rules make it easier for new borrowers to apply for a mortgage by stretching the qualifications a bit.

    That is fucking awesome.

If Apple doesn’t develop a term for such a feature, it can’t highlight it in its marketing material or make support sessions more efficient. You’re complaining about the foundation of language.

I am not fighting some war on behalf of Apple. If I’m fighting any war, it’s against people who make sweeping assumptions and then spread them via useless comments so that more people can become equally as misinformed.

That’s correct, the AT&T 4S’s volume buttons were moved very slightly to accommodate a new antenna configuration. This didn’t impact most cases, because the move was so small, but yes, it certainly impacted some cases.

They’re likely awaiting confirmation from the third-parties that their cases are compatible.

Are you saying that Apple will refund you the cost of the lightning cable that comes packaged with all iPhones if you call them and ask?

The MFi program is for quality control. Apple’s goal is to create a smooth, easy experience for the user. You might be tech savvy, but most users are not, and there’s no exception for Apple’s users. If they used some generic connector, like micro USB, it’d be difficult for users to distinguish between good and bad

Mhm. I see you’ve backed off from the position that said business decisions were made specifically to spur highly priced accessory purchases. Obviously, changes to the hardware might cause people upgrading to the new device to not be able to use accessories that worked with their old device. To me, that sounds

That’s definitely part of it. I buy a new one every year, but I’d certainly reconsider if it meant having to purchase new cases and new docks, too.

Apple has never attempted to hide the fact that the S models have the same dimensions as their predecessors. While I doubt they’d ever say “No S models will ever be different from its predecessor”, because they of course can’t guarantee that will always be true - each and every year, they’ve released an S model and

Your expectation must not be based on history, because historically, this has not been the case for the S models.
