Watching the demo, I was sort of like "eh". But trying it out myself sort of blew me away. Replying to tell you that and to promote the awesome link.

I don't understand the sleeping cocoon. Does the face portion close up?
This isn't around the corner, but I don't think we'll have to wait until 2043 to see it in devices that we use, either. Since it's a giant leap forward, and would give any company who licenses it a major advantage, I doubt it's long before someone comes along and buys up the technology. Maybe RIM in their final…
Me too - that'd rock. I just think it adds load to the servers that process Siri queries, so I'm not sure they'd open it up to anyone. Also, the user experience could suck if many apps are clamoring to answer the same or similar requests. Apple puts UX ahead of all else, so until they can solve that fundamental…
Terrorists have already blamed western culture and/or Jews.
Obama has already blamed Bush.
Yeah that would really change everything. I'm not sure we'll ever see that day, I think we might see a sort of closed API for specific "partners"
That'd be neat. Although that may already be available under Accessibility (i'm just guessing, I haven't checked). Siri's place seems to be in user-initiated interactions.
While that's a nice feature, it has nothing to do with Siri. Siri can pull up my recent e-mail, it can search for e-mail, but it can't read them. Such a silly limitation, especially since as you pointed out, the feature is kind of already there.
Yeah, you'd want a confirmation step in there, like most other Siri actions.
Yeah, I mean, it is what it is. Frankly, I like seeing a nice ass pop up in my twitter feed every now and then. I think the people who get angry at this stuff are a vocal minority who are taking the whole matter entirely too seriously.
Yeah... i mean natively, without such a hack. I'd also love to see her opened up to third party apps, but that's probably long off if it ever happens.
Scratch my comment about 007 wearing the R2D2 cufflinks. These are what he'd wear.
I think Apple needs to spend less time getting Siri on the iPad where it's considerably less useful, and focus more on expanding her capabilities. Like reading e-mails. And reading Wolfram Alpha results. And tweeting.
OMG someone made a comment about a girl looking hot! What kind of madness is this! Guys aren't allowed to think girls are hot! This is 2012!
"divide the amount of effort by the potential result"?
I imagine this is how I'll sneak important data out of high class parties in the homes of supervillains when I'm a special agent.
Yeah, I'm in no way justifying it. But we have to view Anonymous as a criminal organization. This is like working for some criminal enterprise (like the mob or so), then one day, you decide that you don't like the direction they're headed, you withdraw, then start a company that is clearly aimed at selling…
Perhaps that was poor wording. I sort of read the post as being almost surprised, and some of her quotes make her sound annoyed/surprised that this was happening to her. I really don't see how someone could be upset or surprised that this is happening to them, given the circumstances.
But she did want to profit off it.
