I absolutely agree about using OEM parts when you can. They may not be the best for price, but unless the part is just a bad design and fails often, (Cooper S crank position sensor o-ring), I can expect them to last as long as original, which is generally “good enough”.
The dealership is butt-hurt because a customer knew the value of their product more than they did.
I like it when the dealer’s shenanigans spill onto the sales floor. My former brother in law (BIL) was a real hothead, and knew how to piss people off. He got a bug in him to buy a specific Mitsubishi back in the 80s. Needed it right away. Took possession of it with known issues (scratches, missing dealer installed…
I parked cars at the beach in the 19080s and dreaded seeing what that little dial said the temp was. Usually it was 20F higher than the air temp, because sun and packed in cars.
They fixed the tailgate with a model redesign, but kept the blend door actuator issue across most models of all their cars/trucks.
Sorry for the length...
Good diagnosis, but I think you should have followed DeMuro’s advice and get that warranty.
Mini Cooper’s crank position sensor gasket. Two bolts. But behind the rad, bumper support, bumper. Requires attention every 30-40k miles. 2 hours to get to. Now it’s embedded in RTV to see if that lasts.
He assumes it will take that long to bypass Asimov’s first law of robots. You know. Like he has done since he started in business.
If we’re lucky (and Pence dies from shock at the same time), he’ll pull a Palin and declare job done before summer. So long, and thanks for all the fish!
“I do not recall.”
I’ve never been fond of roadside memorials., believing the best way to honor someone’s memory is to visit the places they liked best when alive. That said, my condolences to Mr. Olson on his loss, and hope that the permanent memorial keeps his son’s memory alive for him and those who loved him.
I’m fed up with drivers on a public roads hiding behind absurd tints thinking they’re too self important to be viewed by other drivers. Seeing the other driver and acknowledging them at non-signal controlled intersections is necessary on some roads. Not that it matters, because they’ll likely roll through any stop…
I have my DVR set to record all episodes, and have no issue with rewatching any of them. But I do fast forward to Edd’s parts because that is the crux of why I watch it. I have no interest in flipping cars.
Or the LIE exit off the Cross Island Parkway. The Throgs Neck Bridge entrance off the Cross Island. Those that use the gas station lane at the LGA entrance. It’s just NY drivers in general.
It’s not just nightmares. Thirty-seven years ago, a 16 year old kid racing from the cops broadsided a 1979 Buick Regal, then hit me head on as I sat at a red light. The 53 year old woman driving the Regal was thrown out of her car and against mine. She died instantly. When I’m sitting at intersections similar to…
I have no facts to back this up, but I’d be willing to bet that his pro-life voting record excludes family leave, pre-natal care, pediatric care, and better education for the child. I mean, pro-life only matters to his kind up until it’s born.
I see your Hummer, and raise you a Blackwood. Lifted. No way to scratch all that chrome in the bed since no one can reach it.
I live about five miles from this guy. First, there is no HOA there, just annoying neighbors. Second, it is not uncommon for homes in Oceanside to have jet skis, boats, empty boat trailers, etc in their driveways. Many homes in that area have their shrink-wrapped boat dropped onto their driveway for the winter to…
