Who says I feel under attack? Don’t genuflect your thoughts on me, Chief. My point was not being under attack, but the sheer stupidity of the generalizations therein and the outrage culture. Someone above said something along the lines of folks just looking for reasons to be outraged.

My eyes just rolled out of my skull...I love how you can’t get his point.

Where do you get that? I’m someone who is conservative in ways that was turned away from the conservative movement by their views on gay, trans and human rights.

Wow. Just wow.

That’s all you have? Come on. I think I’d know, my pledge educator for my fraternity was Portuguese and named be Boofa because he always wanted one and Hollywood was taken. East shit, liberals.

You’re not a detractor and I wasn’t dismissing you. Other than that, you’re doing great.

you’ve met recognitions too?

Just an FYI for those who do not know. The $5.7B Trump wants for the wall is just 0.1% of the federal budget, 0.1% is well within the margin of error. Don’t be confused, the democrats are 100% to blame for the shutdown.

That Politico headline is right up there with ESPN’s headlines on articles breaking down Jeremy Lin’s weaknesses.  I’m sure it wasn’t intended to come across the way that it did but it’s so baffingly bad that it makes you question the intelligence of the writer and editors.

here’s the annoying thing about natureslayer (a certified outrage mob member themselves) and their comment - it’s riddled with inaccuracies.

I can’t speak for the rest of the middle, but I know why I’ve grown weary of the Left these days.

“So what do you suggest? I’m serious.”

I agree over the short run that there is a meaningful difference. Over the long run though, I’m not sure there is. They both represent efforts to kill off the sharing of ideas that a majority of people in any given environment might disagree with by imposing steep social costs on those who share those ideas.  I think

Malcolm X was outraged. Harvey Milk was outraged. Maya Angelou was outraged. James Baldwin was outraged.

I’m clearly against those things and if you read my post you know that’s not what I’m talking about.

Eh, I don’t think Rocky is too far off (NOTE: not talking about voting here, or the center, etc.). We *DO* live in an outrage culture. Outrage is used as grist for the 24-hour news cycle mill, and has been effectively weaponized by a handful of bad actors.

If you don’t think we live in an outrage culture right now just waiting to pounce the moment anyone says something that doesn’t 100% line up with what they believe, you’re either being disingenuous or you’re living in a cave.

For the most part, these are the same people that use “centrist” as an insult. They have no interest in convincing people that they’re right; they just want fascism in a candy-coated shell, called by a different name because the F-word has been co-opted by people who don't know what actual fascism is.
