It’s not an awkward position at all. I appreciate where he is coming from, and I sympathize with his feelings about wanting protect people like his friends, but I still think he is very, very wrong. After all, there was an armed police guard at Columbine who shot at Eric Harris several times and missed. Victimhood

Ha! Awesome.

I’m beginning to think some sort of human sacrifice is required to get out of The Slot’s greys

You went to grade school with Obama? That rocks.

My retired, in their 70s, very white neighbors with whom I share a driveway are fervent Carson supporters. Well, the husband is. Idk so much about the wife; though she finally added a Carson sticker to her car, it pales to the 4 or 5 he has on his. It amuses people who come to our house to see their cars parked next

No one has “won”. They’ve essentially tied one primary and each have won another. Their non-superdelegate count is I believe the same, and Sanders has gotten more actual votes so far in the primary.

As a white person with racist relatives that grew up mostly in racist areas (hello Oklahoma and St Louis area!), I know for certain you can’t change hearts and minds with talk. You can’t convince someone into believing that everyone is as worthy as someone else just by telling them to think otherwise is wrong. What

My husband got me Death Wish coffee for our anniversary and expected that it would actually have some kind of effect. I was sad to have to crush his dreams of watching me twitch, but I drink an entire 12 cup pot of Pike’s Place every morning. It’s not that different, lol. You build tolerance to caffeine, not become

My armchair diagnosis is that he is an asshole. The part of me that grew up with an actual narcissist thinks he sounds an awful lot like that, but that’s his business and his problem. I do get annoyed when people are picked apart by “experts” that don’t know them from Adam.

I think the “PR machine” can be directed at any successful pop star, though. Beyonce, Katy Perry, Rihanna...they are all products of the way they choose to frame their life in the PR lens. The people we like and relate to are the ones who feel more “authentic” to us, but that doesn’t make what you see any more real.

Sonali was black I’m almost positive ETA: never mind, upon further looking she is South Asian.

No the dolls of the year are varied and the “Just like me” ones come in almost every skin/hair/eye color combination.

By most people I meant those who want to buy the dolls, haha. Of course many people are like “nope!” and that’s fine. My daughter just loved hers to bits, though. She was so careful with it. It was her big Christmas gift the year she got it, which was perfect.

You can often get them used, but really they are worth the cost. The dolls are extremely well-made and are meant to be heirlooms. Most people save to buy the doll, then get clothes and furniture cheaper elsewhere, since most places sell things for 18" dolls.

That’s the cover art for the books

From what I gather, Kesha’s mother thanked her publicly for the money and Swift’s publicist confirmed it with the statement.

Probably because of all the veiled and not so veiled attacks on her for not making a public statement.

It’s not unusual for contests and game shows to be limited in certain areas because of legal issues. There is an annual yarn company contest I would love to enter, but I can’t because Maryland residents are prohibited. I hope they resolve the issue, but it’s not an anti-Canadian agenda I’m sure.

It’s a weird, weird world we live in. I’m sure it’s a well-meant gift and one much needed for legal bills. However, it is so odd to me that we are at the point where press releases about goodwill gestures and gifts have to be issued or else the public and peers will accuse you of being a false friend or bad feminist

Two bands I love SO SO SO much. This is genius.
