We aren’t THAT wealthy. Not compared to a lot of other areas in Maryland. Most of the town is decidedly mixed income.

They didn’t start out that way, heh. He was pretty snaggly before he got famous.

You realize he is much, much older, right?

I think at this point it’s an audition for VP. I like O’Malley. If Sanders wasn’t running, he would be my choice.

She also has some anxiety issues. Her freak outs over messiness was NOT “normal”. I remember how difficult it was for her to deal with the kids doing regular kid things like eating ice cream cones and carving pumpkins. She was at the point of full blown panic attacks. Whether the anxiety was because of the 8 kids or

I think Pitt is one of those who has gotten better looking as he has aged. He was so pretty when he was young, but the character age gave him suits him. Too bad.

I think in these cases, they have been in the process of divorce long enough that it doesn’t make much difference.

No, it’s not.

Not if your name is Jonathon.

You do not understand what white privilege means. Think of it as majority privilege if it upsets you so, but make no mistake, in the United States at least, it’s privilege reserved for white people- preferably straight, Christian, white people. It does not mean that you, personally, are racist. It means that we live

I don’t have an issue with him as long as he doesn’t do any more godawful Beats ads with Russell Wilson.

No, no, I’m sorry if I implied they were. I was pointing out that’s the only other “option” at this point, but obviously no one wants that. I think they’ve done the best the can in a situation with no satisfactory solutions.

The studios put the actors up for consideration, though, and there is a huge amount of money tied up in it. Similarly to how movie studios resisted changing the old studio system where they basically owned actors, they are pushing hard against the competition. Netflix can make the movies cheaper because of built in

They absolutely have an impact, and I would never disagree that more diversity is needed. An Academy Award is a huge boost to careers and studios. More awards going to minorities will almost certainly increase the amount of minorities considered for roles and production. The answer isn’t to pander and hand out

What is wrong with her eyebrows?

She looks soooooo much like her mom.

I can definitely get behind that sentiment!

I don’t disagree with that, and I do think MBJ and probably Idiris Elba (I say probably because I haven’t seen his movie yet but he’s always great) should have been nominated. But I have only heard 4, maybe 5, films/people brought up that were “overlooked”, and notably all those have been black actors, not any other

They can’t just add people at whim. It’s a dues paying organization. The changes to voting and voter status go into place after this Awards. The fact that the voter makeup is not immediately 80/20 or whatever is a fact of life. You have to allow for people’s terms to be up and for new people to want to join.

I don’t necessarily think it’s a simply question of the performance having to be above and beyond, since that’s supposed to be the standard for all of them. There’s a whole lot of white people who never get the nod, too. There are “Oscar favorites” for sure, the ones who are always nominated regardless (Meryl, and now
