Then you aren’t eating the right grits. Quaker in particular doesn’t count; if there’s a white dude in a powdered wig on your grits container, it’s the wrong grits.

F150s don’t have the same following that the GM trucks do. Right or wrong, it is what it is.
I have been looking for an 88-98 Chevy or GMC C/K (short bed, standard cab) for about a year now. I voted NP because this price seems on the low end for these trucks; most of the ones I see around this price are rustbuckets with even more miles. Hell, I’ve seen trucks with broken frames for this price. Only things…
I voted for him.
I disagree. Nothing wrong with a dream.
The biggest problem has been the systematic prevention and destruction of methods for POC to build wealth over generations. Until we find some way as a country to erase the legacy of decades and centuries of systemic financial abuse, you aren’t going to keep people from wasting…
Assuming no major changes in inheritance law, I’ll be “rich” someday. But that’s because I am white, and therefore my family has been able to build up wealth over generations.
But even then, I won’t be GOP rich.
Just do it. I can rewire a Bug in an afternoon. There’s just not much there.
My 1990 Honda Civic Wagon. Would love to have another one, especially knowing what I know now. Not having to do all the trial-and-error over again would be fantastic.
My 1976 Peugeot 504 sedan. Still the best-riding car I have ever had, and I’ve been through Jaguars, Cadillacs, and others. Got fantastic fuel economy,…
This is a fair price for what it is.
I would rather have the replacement model; this platform with a V8 was hilariously terrible.
Can’t wait for these to clog my commute! Will the Raptor guys upgrade, you think? I already have to peer under and around those on a daily basis.
It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.
The ostensible opposition party constantly drills into our heads that the government is on the verge of a fascist takedown with no plan to stop it other than cajoling us into voting.
Neat car. Too expensive. CP.
For an “only issue” a major design fault that’s a potential car-killer that the manufacturer is unwilling to address seems like a big deal.
But that’s one of the other problems with VW (and most other car companies, but it’s worse with VW), the unwillingness to take responsibility for and fix problems.
Everything made by man can break. Often in spectacular ways. But most Japanese cars tend not to fail due to obvious, repeated engineering or materials choice failures.
And every marque has good and bad models, with good and bad years. I’m sure there is a Toyota model that Toyota techs hate as much as I hate the Bentley…
Well, the giant cockroaches that replace us after the apocalypse will probably be driving XV10 Toyota Camrys.
But really, every brand has good and bad cars, and good and bad years. Never buy a 1988 or 1989 Jaguar, for example. Any model.
But if you want some good comparisons, the Car Wizard on the YouTubes has a series…
The Volkswagen TDI engines were and are fantastic; I loved mine. I just can’t recommend the cars wrapped around them.
Guys, I’m an ASE Master Tech with over 20 years in the European repair business. I’m not talking from a position of ignorance.
If your experience has been good, that’s fantastic. But it’s not what I experience as the norm.
If it makes you feel better, I don’t recommend used BMWs at all, either. And Mercedes is a toss-up.
Never. Buy. A. Used. VAG. Product.
I don’t suggest buying new, either. Lease, sure, if that’s your thing. But that’s as far as I will go.
I’m an outlier, probably. But money spent on good tools is never wasted. My views are likely coloured by the fact I am a professional mechanic, but both my home and work tool boxes are mostly filled with “high-end” tools. My go-to brands are Matco, Ko-Ken, and Snap-On. But I’m not above a Northern Tool or Harbor…
