If it’s still called APHC then he’s almost certainly still getting paid as a producer/creator/something. This may look like a technicality, but it’s more likely a way of making sure they don’t still have to pay him.

I heard a great point to counter these fools - sorry, but I can’t remember the source. Essentially it was to ask them why nobody’s been to the edge? Wouldn’t that be a cool place to visit? Not to mention providing the obvious “proof”.
Oh god - Adam Scott would kill me. Mostly because I’m in love with Ben Wyatt & projecting the character’s attributes onto the actor, but still: Let me have this one nice thing!!
Starred for Steven Amell, aka Arrow.
I’ve heard rumors for years of him being banned from certain spas in LA for assaulting masseuses. I have no proof, but most of what I’ve heard comes from friends who’ve worked in those spas.
Plenty. Which is exactly what makes this so shitty. A decent person would say “is it okay for me to grab your upper arm during the argument”, or something like that. Not doing so is an abuse of power at the very least.
Ethical actors - even Method ones - get permission to touch their scene partner before they start. It’s to keep everyone safe & comfortable. The fact that Kilmer & Stone both disregarded this sounds like they both knew they had the power & didn’t give a shit. Or worse - they got off on it.
Ooh, ooh! (Waves hand obnoxiously) I will! I will!
I just took a floorwork class from a group of guys that were in Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” video. (Their crew is in the scene most obviously lifted from “Formation.”) They are half my age & can work an 8-inch heel better than I ever will. So: maybe? (Probably not for a lot of reasons. But thanks for…
Oh, I agree. It gets very tangled, and there’s all kinds of stigma attached to “certain types” of pole dancing that pisses me off. I was just sharing because a lot of people don’t know about the history, and a lot of the new athleticism in the movement is easily traced to those roots.
I’ve been poling for 10 years. I usually dance barefoot. Of course, I’m into doing stuff that requires foot/pole contact in order to avoid dying, like this:
Thanks for persisting here :) I’ve been chiming in where appropriate, but I’m grey. Hopefully someone will see? Anyway: this poler says Thank you!
Yes. The studio I train at has male instructors. They come from a variety of backgrounds (sport, dance, etc.) and sometimes also specialize in something like aerial silks. One guy I take class from is also a B-boy - there’s a lot of similarity in the head/hips balance, whether your body is horizontal or vertical.
That move is either called a Flag or an Iron X. Both are indeed quite impressive!
That’s just the western origin - and rightly the 1st thing most people here think of. Check these out for a deeper history:
You need bare skin to stick to the pole, instead of sliding off. There are all kinds of products, similar to what gymnasts use on their hands, to help avoid slipping. Also, there are now poles coated in different materials that allow you to stick without skin-on-metal contact. I’ve played one them one time - you can…
I’ve been teaching pole fitness for 10 years, and started competing last year. Without publicly saying any more & doxxing myself: I’m here & happy to answer all questions.
Hahaha I know, right?
Probably not for this show. But I work for a studio that teaches pole & I can confirm that there’s a pilot out there where my boss does indeed try to teach her that.
