Yeah, her character's politics were aggravating. Let's go to a protest for a date! Yikes. Nina was definitely cuter than Heather Graham to me, but I also have a predilection for dorky girls. Although, I think I'm in the minority in that I don't think Graham really reached her peak until she was in her 30's. In

I think she was cute as hell (glasses and all), but obviously the Siemaszko clan only had room for one acting dynamo and clearly that's Casey…

Thanks for this. Seriously. I've been dealing with the same thing for 39 years and it's hard for people to understand that don't go through this on a daily basis. It sucks and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Thanks for adding some levity to this shitty news.

It's funny you mention Pavement because that's exactly who I think about every time I listen to these guys (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). Even the cover for Sunbathing Animal reminds me of Westing (By Musket and Sextant).

That's actually Ski School. Obviously, Dean Cameron gravitated toward flicks with School in the title.

It's not terrible, but Corey Parker is really not a suitable replacement for John Cusack.

Morse is absolutely amazing in Sean Penn's first directorial outing, The Indian Runner. I had noticed him pop up in random things before, usually in small or supporting roles, but he's the lead in this and carries the whole film. It's definitely one of the better movies about brothers and loyalty to one's family

I was thinking Jim Rash from Community.

I'll give Soderbergh credit for making a movie as batshit crazy as Schizopolis. I used to have it on videotape and would attempt to show it to friends. Very few would ever make it past the first twenty minutes or so. I thought it was hilarious, in a sometimes obtuse way, but hilarious nonetheless. The backstory on

I pretty much had the exact same reaction, strangely enough. I absolutely loved it the first time I watched it, but it felt like a slog to get through the second time. My obsession with Rita Tushingham remained through both viewings though. Tushingham is not what one would call conventionally attractive, but

Look, I'm just thrilled that anyone knows who Electronic are. I feel like they're one of those bands that kind of slipped through the cracks despite their obvious pedigree.

Yep, that's on there along with one of my favorite early Pavement songs: The Unseen Power of the Picket Fence, which is a song about… R.E.M, bringing everything full circle.

That's the one. I used to play the hell out of that cd.

I agree. The name was terrible, yet this didn't stop me from having their sticker on my boombox.

Definitely the R.E.M. track that got me interested in going back and checking out their prior work. Both Volumes of the 120 Minutes compilation cd's were rife with good to great tracks. These along with the compilation cd, No Alternative got a lot of airtime on my boombox back in the day.

Yeah, let's talk shit about pop culture, not each other. I come here for the camaraderie and laughs.

Can't go wrong with an Ice Pirates reference.

Electronic definitely had some hot tracks, but none nearly as good as those of their prior respective bands. As I typed this, New Order's Age of Consent just came on Pandora. Strange.

Thanks for the link.
