This has got to be one of the worst reviews I've read in a while. If you didn't like a huge portion of tonight, why did you give it an A-?

If Harbard is Odin, or Loki as some have suggested, it wouldn't be pointless. It would be keeping in line with the very opening of the Pilot in which Ragnar, after battle, sees Odin walking among the dead and the Valkyries taking the souls of the fallen warriors to Valhalla. As Ragnar is thought to be a son of Odin,…
I hate it too when an actor/actress has to leave a show, but her reason made sense and life happens.
Wow. I hadn't realized it at the time, but you're right. Thanks for sharing!
You mean Death or do you mean a supernatural guide?
Maybe it's a compromise for some members of the audience who might not understand the "show's" politics that well?
Excellent post!
I think I read in an interview somewhere last night that he's going to be explored more in the future. It was an interview with the actress who plays Siggy explaining why she had to leave the show and how they went about preparing. I'm sorry though… I can't remember the site.
Agree about Ecbert wanting to sleep with Athelstan. That has definitely been the vibe for a while now.
I thought so too! It was so beautiful.
He already had Aslaug when they ran off. There was no reason for the kids to wander around except to lead to Siggy's death.
It's suggested by Harbard's presence when Siggy died that the kids ran away and didn't come back because they were being controlled by the gods (likely Odin).
It seems that Harbard is Odin in disguise given he mentioned that he has always been a wanderer (i.e. Odin the Wanderer) and the name Harbard is associated with Odin.
I agree with Labyrintha. I imagine the topic will come up in the spin-off series since it will explore the early days of the apocalypse.
Dexter Season 8 was AWFUL and the ending after the fade to black made it perhaps one of the most horrible endings in TV history. Just Google bad television finales and you'll see it on almost every recent top 10 list.
I'm so tired of the great "love story" of Bill and Sookie. I truly don't see why anyone would think it was so great.
Season 1 & 2 tied - Because of how the cast was introduced, the unique character-driven moments and the push of the supernatural. There was also the fantastic, albeit rushed, switches between the plane's front passengers and Tailies AND more of a sense of adventure and wonder.
I don't know about the amount of BtVS ideas in TVD, but the ones that jump out of TW:
You mentioned Malia's PTSD, but nothing about Stiles or the fact that the show has done next to nothing to address what happened to him in 3b. He was possessed and made to do very horrible things. That's pretty akin to rape and yet nothing has really been done to delve into his emotional state.
The actress that played her moved on to a different show. I don't know why they didn't just get a different actress…
