I feel your pain. I’ve watched blobeye STi’s sit stagnant between $15-20k values for about 15 years now. Also manual CTSV Wagons are still going for damn close to MSRP. And they’re cool as hell, but not that cool.

Especially 20 years down the road, this will be an important distinction for those of us who plan on actually driving our “collectibles”.

I just recently became aware of this particular variant of Camaro. Stigma aside, I could definitely see myself picking one up down the road when I don’t need to haul kids anymore.

Good call. Hell throw on some lift spacers and rally-spec wheel/tire combo for some real snow-nannigans.

Extra points for the Rod Farva quote. You win the internet today.

Ford is probably the worst common-day offender. See Maverick and Bronco. It’s no secret vehicle costs have skyrocketed recently. Being able to say “starting under $30k” generates a hell of a lot of hype. Then in reality, about 1% of the production run is of that spec, and in the case of Ford, they stop making it after

I also find it interesting (/s) how vehicles that come standard with a manual <gasp> sell more manuals. Especially these days when advertising a low starting price is a priority regardless of what a well equipped version costs, I am surprised more manufacturers aren’t using that as a way to lower starting costs a tiny

One thing I never see come up in these discussions - how does simply offering a manual affect overall model/brand sales as well as model and brand perceptions? The take rate may only be 10 percent, but is that an additional 10 percent of sales that would not have happened otherwise or are those folks that would have

Fair point but I am pretty certain “fastest” is based on either 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, top speed, or both.

Indeed, it’s the 2.5 out of the STI with some different tuning/turbo etc and makes a claimed 250 hp. All the normal STI engine mods should be compatible. Subarus of this era were like legos so a 6-speed swap should be easy enough. This thing would be an absolute hoot with a 6-speed, some gravel spec coilovers, and as

Its a boxer 4, headgasket means pulling the engine fully out of the bay for access. Not a fun weekend driveway mechanic job.

Anyone have measurements of the height of the sides of the beds off the ground of various trucks? I’m 6'4" - well above the height of the average truck user, and I can hardly reach over the sides to grab tools and things out of the bed of a truck anymore. That’s probably a bigger deal to me personally than the height

As soon as I realized there was a minor - or at least not a fully developed adult - involved, the memes stopped being funny to me. Hearing that he was scared and apprehensive makes this even worse. Poor kid.

Okay so first off let’s get one thing clear. An increase from 7% of drivers to 48% of drivers is actually a 685% increase. Or put another way the number of people increased by 41 percentage points.

Now imagine each skateboard can carry 4 or 6 or 8 personal pods instead of one large one, and use an app to couple you with neighbors going to similar locations at similar times. While this particular car in the form it currently sits may be a little too ambitious to be practically useful it’s not hard to apply to the

I went down once trail riding on my DRZ400 (probably a bit over 300 lbs wet the way it’s equipped). The rear wheel was in a rut, and my lower leg ended up caught between the muffler and the high bank of the rut (thanks MX boots). I was laying with my stomach toward the ground, unable to get any leverage to lift the
